It will not let me go into the server properties as the spooler is not running 0 Mace OP Best Answer Rockn Aug 8, 2013 at 2:07 UTC I have come across this before, but can't recall what the solution was. It was due to a corrupt driver and I had to go through the registry if I am not mistaken. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/diy-it-guy/diy-how-to-delete-pesky-printers
0 Poblano OP Pembers93 Aug 8, 2013 at 2:19 UTC Thanks For your help removing the printers from registry and also deleting anything other than Internet print Providers and LanMan Print Services from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Providers" appears to have solved the problem. 0 Mace OP Rockn Aug 8, 2013 at 2:22 UTC Cool, glad it worked out. 0 This discussionList Welcome Guide More BleepingComputer.com → Microsoft Windows Support → Windows 7 Javascript Disabled Detected You currently have javascript disabled. I've been at this for 3 full days. The problem is basically the Print Spooler keeps shutting off. I've done all the basics (i.e. set startup to automatic, subsequent failures, etc...). In the event log, there are 5 error codes the persistently show up that are the cause, but I don't know how to go about fixing them. They are: Error Service Control Manager 7031 The Print Spooler service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 14 time(s). In between print jobs this afternoon the printer stopped working, with the message http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261434-45-print-spooler-start 'Print Spooler Service not running'. When I look at Settings>Printer/Faxes I no longer see my Canon Printer, though it was there last time I looked. For First failure, select Restart the Service. Do the same for Second and Third failure. Also, make sure the Remote Procedure Call service (RPC) is Started and Automatic. Phantom010, Jul 11, 2009 #3 AlexBell Thread Starter Joined: Jul 31, 2007 Messages: 41 Thanks to you both for your speedy response. I've followed both sets of instructions as far as I understand them, but when I click on the Start button for a couple of seconds it looks as though a file is loading, but then it stops with the error message: Could not start the Print Spooler Service on Local Computer. Error 1067. The process terminated unexpectedly. I found RPC under the dependencies tag. It initially had at the left the little box containing a + which usually means a subfolder. When I click on the box it disappeared but nothing else happened, and when I tried again and double clicked on RPC the box went away again, but still nothing else happened. I did this before trying to start Printer Spooler Services. Regards, Alex AlexBell, Jul 11, 2009 #4 Phantom010 Trusted Advisor Joined: Mar 9, 2009 Messages: 34,572 You have to locate the RPC service in the list of services, like you did for the Printer Spooler service, not under Dependencies.
