The printer is an HP 1300. @Kelly Armitage: Thanks for the links. I had tried both of these but without positive results. There were numerous files in the C:\System32\Spool\Printers directory with a Flash file association but deleting these had no effect on the problem. @Pillip5403: I haven't run the scf scannow utility on this system yet. 0 Pimiento OP Best Answer JHemming Nov 15, 2012 at 3:39 UTC I fixed this by replacing the spoolsv.exe and spoolss.dll files. 1 Pimiento OP ZeroKnight Nov 21, 2012 at 4:53 UTC 1st Post @Jhemming Can I know how exactly did you replace the spoolsv.exe and spoolss.dll files? Just one day when I tried printing the error popped up printer not installed; well that was ridiculous, this just could not be. After calling HP and Microsoft (wanted to charge me $99) to fix remotely, however I was emailed a troubleshoot link which did not tell me how to fix the problem. So, I turned to my trusted google search and found your post. My printer is now working again. Thank you so much. Reply wg March 28, 2013 at 02:05 Thank you so much! Really appreciate your help!
