remove 79.00FE error message? AnonymousSep 8, 2005, 5:54 AM Archived from 79.00 fe printer error hp 8100 groups: comp.sys.hp.hardware (More info?)When I print some PDFs on my HP 4050 or 8000 printer, including somePDFs that hp laserjet 4050 error 79.00 fe I created using Adobe Distiller 5.0 using the default "Print"job option (Acrobat 4.0(PDF 1.3) Compatibility), I have the 79.00 FEPRINTER ERROR. My systems support person says that this Compatibilitything

is eqivalent to PostScript Level. And our HP 8000 and HP 4050 laser printers do not support PostScript 3;they support only PostScript 2. Because I create the PDFs using 4.0Compatibility (same as PostScript Level 4?), I am not going to be ableto print them on these printers. However, they can be printed on HP4100, which supports PostScript 3 (even though

notCompatbility/PostScript 4). Now my Distiller 5.0 (presumably anyhigher version too) does not support anything lower than Compatibility3.0 - it cannot create a PDF of Compatibility 2.1 for example. Now, isAdobe so stupid that it removes this PostScript 2 support fromDistiller such that the PDFs it creates cannot be printed on certainprinters? Any cure? Any comment?I read http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/errorcodes/hp but itdoes not really help. 7 answers Last reply Sep 4, 2012 Best Answer Sep 3, 2012 More about remove 00fe error message AnonymousSep 8, 2005, 5:58 AM Archived from groups: comp.sys.hp.hardware (More info?)This is supposed to be a "follow-up" to a couple of posts under thissubject last March. AnonymousSep 26, 2005, 6:15 PM Archived from groups: comp.sys.hp.hardware (More info?)For the record, it appears that there is a bug with Adobe Reader 7.0(for WinXP) from where I tried to print certain PDFs. Get your Network Admin geek to clear 'the print queue' for that printer. The geek should know what you mean. Once the queue is cleared, then re-install the netcard, connect the cables and power up the printer. If you get the same problems, then I'm afraid it is a formatter change.RegardsTrev by unknown on Mar 15, 2007 at 1:02pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Trev,The JetDirect can cause 79 errors, so if the printer works with it removed and fails with it installed then it still might be the JetDirect. The 4050TN would have shipped with either a JetDirect 600N or 605N, I'm not sure which, it's possible that a 615N is installed. The 79 error is one of the known issues with the 615N.If the card happens to be a 615N HP is still sending free replacements. by Stephen on Mar 15, 2007 at 2:12pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I hear what you say, Stephen but..... if a fully operating netcard, on power up. and while initialising, gets a load of garbage (thats stuck in the print queue) sent to it, it will have a 'stroke' and (normally) give a 49.xxxx error. If the garbage is removed from the print queue BEFORE power up and doesn't cause a 49 error and the printer becomes ready.and
printed through. I put in the new printer ID and sent a doc to the printer. The printer showed a Data Error of 79.00FE. The printer software on my Mac reported "unable to send trailing nul to printer: Broken pipe" http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/74525 I powered down the printer and tried again several times and got the same results. I have a PDF manual on CD and found the same suggestions given by moe in 2008. I removed and cleaned the fuser because it solved my error problems before but it didn't help this time. The manuel didn't give a specific description for this error code. One thing I forgot to mention. Since the last time I printed, Apple had a HP software update that I installed. Do you think printer error it conflicts with an eleven year old printer? If so, I don't know how to get back to the former version. I do have one Time Machine backup from before this update but don't know how to go about changing only the HP software. Maybe apple can help me. Respond to this 0 First off I assume you have a network card. If so remove it with the power off and power on the printer and then go to the information menu and see if fe printer error you can do internal prints. If you can there is the possibility the network card has an issue. It could be your software from the MAC. by dmzcompute on Oct 25, 2012 at 6:07pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Update:I tried to print from my Mac desktop instead of my Macbook Pro. I printed a HP read me on firmware. It printed all 16 pages and then the error happened. I was about to print a configuration page and then I heard the sound of a relay and the error displayed. So it doesn't seem to be a network communication problem but could still be. I will try your suggestion in the morning but I will go back to the manual to look again at the possible causes list. It might be a hardware problem. - Joe BigBand 0 Update 2:I didn't do a good job of documenting each test. I powered down and pulled the Jet Direct card. I printed a configuration page. I can't remember for sure but I think there were times when the error happened without the card. I didn't do a cold restart. I pulled the DIMM cards on the formatter one at a time and cycled through a power cycle. I did a print from my desk top Mac which did not have the HP software update and got the error after printing a one page document. I tried connecting the ethernet jack on the desk top Mac directly to the printer but the pr
