Reseat the toner cartridges While reseating the toner cartridges pay attention to the ease of how they go in and out. The lock levers should move up when the transfer assembly opens and lower when the transfer assembly closes. If everything seems fine and reseating the cartridges doesn’t resolve the issue, remove them and watch the lock levers as you open and close the transfer assembly. The lock levers actually move with the transfer assembly so if you remove the transfer assembly you can leave the door open and move the transfer assembly holders up and down so the door doesn’t obscure watching the lock levers. If none of the lock levers move on a side or if you don’t feel any tension then one of the cams is most likely broken. The lock slide levers should move fluidly with some resistance due to the springs on the actual lock levers. If there is no tension, feels awkward to move, or you hear a loud clicking sound then something is probably broke in the cam assembly or slide lever. Switch the cartridges If everything is moving the way it should and you can’t see anything wrong then switch the cartridges. For instance, if the black slot is giving you the “cartridge not engaged” error then switch it out with the magenta cartridge to see if the problem follows the cartridge or stays with the slot. If it follows the cartridge then replace the cartridge and see if it continues. The lock levers If one o

in with the toner locks broken and error 10.92.03. Replaced the toner locks with no problems. The error still persists. HP is telling me that it is a timing problem with the MDA that had to be removed to replace the http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/44012 toner locks. I have retimed this printer 4 times now with no luck. I am believing there http://greatprints.blogspot.com/2013/11/hp-q6470a-toner-cartridge-not-engaged.html is a deeper problem than this timing issue, but HP is telling absolutely that it is a timing problem. The last time I timed it I watched it going thru its post and this is where the gears go out of time.Has anyone removed/replaced the MDA in one of these and maybe shed a little light? Also, the document that was sent with the toner locks apparently is printer error incorrect according to a tech with HP. It shows the shafts being pushed all the way to the left, but according to HP these need to be in the middle of the travel and not all the way to the left. Thanks for any help you might have.Bill Respond to this 0 Not sure if I can help much but I've only seen the cartridge locks broken a few times, and if I remember it is tricky getting everything back together correctly. You should printer error 10.92 verify you have all the spring reattached correctly & check the white cams in back, each color has a cam attached to a silver bar that goes through the right side frame, top & bottom shafts have a sensor attached but each time if its in the home position should be at a different degree of rotation from the others.Your error message means the yellow cartridge isn't engaged so check the springs for the yellow. Hopefully you replaced all 4 locks that came with the kit because I didn't bother at the first time & had to take apart because another one was cracked but not broken off.Make sure you didn't miss any connectors when reattaching cables too. Sounds like theres something there being overlooked, could be a small item too thats easily be missed. by Sharpie on Jan 11, 2007 at 1:34pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Ok I figured it out. There are 2 gears on the top of the MDA one runs the black and the other gear runs the colors. These gears must be rotated to disengage the cartidge drive gears. You must rotate the top gear that drives the colors 3 clicks to disengage the 3 colors. I was only rotating it enough to disengage the yellow. So that was my problem. Thanks Sharpie for your help.Bill by theprinterman on Jan 11, 2007 at 4:04pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I'm having the same trouble?Did
"Cartridge Not Engaged" problem particularly the 10.92.XX error code with your HP LaserJet CP3505 series printer. Then you have two possible causes to consider. First, the door is not properly close; second the ledges on each right side of the toners are not pressed down. To elaborate, read further below and learn more about this issue. What does the 10.92.XX error mean? It refers to a printer problem where the cartridges are not engaging correctly. The last two digits or the "XX" determines which cartridge is experiencing the error. • 10.92.00 (Black) • 10.92.01 (Cyan) • 10.92.02 (Magenta) • 10.92.03 (Yellow) What might be causing this? If the front door of the printer is not totally close, I mean it's not securely lock, then maybe one of the HP Q6470A toner cartridges are not properly placed. This is very common to those who have recently replaced the toners. What you need to do is take the cartridges out of the machine and see if you can close the front door firmly. If it clicks in place, then you get the answer to your dilemma. Try to reseat the toner cartridges back into their slots and this time be more careful. Slip them one at time starting with the black, push it in, and repeat this process working your way down to the last cartridge. Once you're done with all the toners, check if the door can now be closed fine. Let's hope that it could solve the problem. You may turn the unit ON and let it read the cartridges for like half a minute, see if the "Cartridge Not Engaged" error disappears. If the above suggestion doesn't turn out to be the solution, then it must be a component related issue. Open the front cover of your printer, try to remove the toners and locate the plastic ledges (typically white in color) on the right side of each slot. Closing the cover without reseating the toners will cause the ledges to move up. These are also called the cartridge locks,
