to call HP tech support...yeah right. In the document support for HP, this one says "grinding noises when installing toner." Well, I haven't heard any grinding http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/48680 noises, but I followed their steps (taking out all the toner cartridges, one by one), and every time I turn the printer back on, the same error message appears, even when all the cartridges have been removed from the printer.Any advice ?Thanks in advance. :) Respond to this 0 Maybe you have a lot of dust in the caroussel postition sensors, so these sensors do not printer error operate correctly anymore. Now the printer thinks the caroussel does not reach the right position within the specified time => The printer thinks there is an obstruction for the caroussel. Clean the sensors with a brush. And now you are busy, maybe it is the opportunity to clean out the whole printer with compressed air....goodluckmarco by unknown on Jun 28, 2007 at 8:01am Add comment Please sign printer error 54.2 in to comment 0 thanks, marco - i'll give this a try. by Emeric7 on Jun 28, 2007 at 9:24am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 If you are going to blow it out with compressed air, there are 2 things you want to make sure you do first. Carry the printer outside because it can get messy. Slide out the waste tray from above the fuser assembly. That will get messy if you hit it with air. You'll look like a multi-colored Smurf. by moe on Jun 28, 2007 at 9:50am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 and if you want to blow it out, remove all the toners, the drum, the transfer, the fuser, the transfer drawer, the paper tray(s). Best to remove all the covers too. Blow it out with compressed air from all sides untill no more toner comes out.. by unknown on Jun 30, 2007 at 6:17am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Okay, I tried all this. Took out every tray, blew compressed air all over the printer, inside and out. No success, still saying error 54.2. I really do thank you all for your ad
