We are on our 3rd one in this particular printer and the 79 error appeared today (2/21/08) by wsh on Feb 21, 2008 at 8:13am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The 615n is nothing short of junk. I don't think HP will sell you one anymore. I've replaced all of my defective 615n's with 620n's. by unknown on Dec 18, 2008 at 8:18am Add comment Please sign in to comment I have also been experiencing many 615 failures. My solution is to replace them with a 620. - Anonymous 0 HP was sending out free replacement 620Ns, unfortunately the program ended in October 2008.The 620Ns are much more reliable, I recommend the newer version of the card, the J7934G. by Stephen on Dec 21, 2008 at 7:02pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I thought HP was continuing the free 615 NIC replacement with the 620 cards until 12/31/08. Try calling the Direct Line Jetdirect card office in Boise, ID at 208-333-4261 & see if that is frue. by unknown on Dec 22, 2

Get your Network Admin geek to clear 'the print queue' for that printer. The geek should know what you mean. Once the queue is cleared, then re-install the netcard, connect the cables and power up the printer. If you get the same problems, then I'm afraid it is a formatter change.RegardsTrev by unknown on Mar 15, 2007 at 1:02pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Trev,The JetDirect can cause 79 errors, so if the printer works with it removed and fails with it installed then it still might be the JetDirect. The 4050TN would have shipped with either a JetDirect 600N or 605N, I'm not sure which, it's possible that a 615N is installed. The 79 error is one of the known issues with the 615N.If the card happens to be a 615N HP is still sending free replacements. by
