Plugging the printer directly into my macbook via usb cable will work, but never wirelessly. Also my failed document seems to prevent other macbooks without problems, until I clear my list or restart the printer.help! macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.2), my white baby Posted on Apr 1, 2008 8:31 AM I have this question too Close Q: 10.5 Printing Error "Network Host Busy Problem" All replies Helpful answers Page 1 Next by dougup, dougup Apr 6, 2008 11:23 AM in response to r-macho Level 1 (0 points) Apr 6, 2008 11:23 AM in response to r-macho Bump!We have an Airport Extreme and Airport Express(original)-extended wireless network. I have been able to print to our networked printer (Phaser 6120) plugged into Airport Extreme without problems until today. It just stopped working. Tried deleting the printer and now it doesn't show up when I try to re-add. When I add it as an IP Printer and try to print, I get the network host busy message. We just realized we're now getting the same messages from our Mac Pro as well which is wired to the Airport Extreme. So seems like a Printing issue, not a wireless/wired issue at this point for us. See my thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1474517&tstart=15My guess is that there is a subtle defect in Leopard that causes it to "believe" that a busy status exists when, in fact, it doesn't. The local Apple store is claiming that my problem lies with my router, but the same router works between my MBP and the other network printer, and between a PC and this printer. Also, everything worked perfectly under Tiger, which has lead them to claim that manufacturers must modify their code/firmware to keep up with Apple upgrades. Hel

I used the documented KOC353U.ppd in http://askubuntu.com/questions/197718/how-to-resolve-network-host-is-busy-will-retry-in-30-seconds the process. I was able to print exactly one page. Afterwards, all I get in the printer's status is the message: "Network host '10.0.0.42' is busy; will retry in 30 seconds". What is the problem here and how do I resolve it? 11.10 networking printing share|improve this question asked Oct 8 '12 at 9:04 k0pernikus 1,44721741 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote don't use ipp. use "socket://###.###.###.##:port#/" for your printer instead. port # maybe 9100 or 631 Reason: The first specifications of IPP lacked of some important details. This allowed Microsoft to implement it in a their own way. The result was that printer manufacturer had to decide how to do their IPP support the way Microsoft does. Therefore you should use a different protocol, the socket protocol. share|improve this answer edited Oct 8 '12 at 9:18 answered Oct 8 '12 at 9:11 user61928 This got me in the right direction. Yet via socket I got a broken pipe error. lpd was the solution that worked for me. –k0pernikus Oct 8 '12 at 10:19 ok, thats good. –us
