Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement linzy Thread Starter Joined: Apr 25, 2007 Messages: 4 Hi! My EPSON STYLUS PHOTO RX620 which was working fine before has now decided to display a 'printer error occurred - please see documentation' message. When I checked the user manual, it suggested i switch off, then on again and if that didn't work (which it didn't!) to contact my dealer. I had just replaced the ink cartidges, so I've given them a check over to see if anything was wrong there, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary, and I can't see or feel any jammed bits of paper. If anyone has any ideas about how to sort this out, I'd really appreciate the help linzy, Apr 25, 2007 #1 Sponsor eliseby Joined: Feb 2, 2008 Messages: 2 I know this is absolutely no help, but I get the same message on my rx620 printer screen. If I find out how to fix it I'll post a note. The only thing I found out is that a "repair" tech might be able to work it out for about $65. In the mean-time I bought a Kodak 5300 all-in-one ($22. for a combo pack of both ink cartridges). I haven't given up on a "home remedy" for my epson(yet). eliseby, Feb 2, 2008 #2 BIGBOBUK2008 Joined: Feb 26, 2008 Messages: 1 HI, Turn off the printer Hold down The Stop Button And The B & W Button Turn on the printer while holding the buttons down printer will reset good luck bigbobuk2008 BIGBOBUK2008, Feb 26, 2008 #3 eliseby Joined: Feb 2, 2008 Messages: 2 BIGBOBUK208, I just got notice of your posting. Respond to this 0 FIXED IT!!!If anyone else has this problem i advise you to check under your scan lid and you'll see a padlock symbol, switch the switch next to it up and down a few times leaving it in the unlocked position. When I did the search, this was the first item selected, and the fix WORKED!!Thanks by trkutz on May 21, 2010 at 7:52am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Adjusting the transportation lock works for my printer as well. The transportation locking mechanism seems to be poorly made/installed on this model since it can block the path of the scanner head while sitting in the unlocked position. At least it was a cheap model. by unknown on Jun 2, 2010 at 12:16pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Well, either i didnt do it right or my printer is stupid, Because it didnt work for mine. by unknown on Feb 11, 2011 at 8:17am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 YAY nik_vik!!! Tried suggested posted without any luck. Went to Epson website and troubleshot but without success. Even downloaded driver; cleaned printer, etc. No luck. This printer has worked perfectly and now does everything except scan and that is exactly what I need for my genealogy project. Any suggestions? Thanks! by Genealogy Nut on Apr 11,

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX the printer and make sure the transportation lock is not on, it should be in the unlock position: Then try to scan again and see if the error is still there. If so, Unplug the printer sharply from the power outlet while it is still on > While the printer is off, press and hold the power button for 1 minuteFinally, while holding down the stop/cancel button (or just the power button if you don't have those), plug the printer back in, and power on the printer if it doesn't do so automatically, then try another scan. Let me know if that clears it up, if not, we will try some other steps, just post back here first.
