Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement linzy Thread Starter Joined: Apr 25, 2007 Messages: 4 Hi! My EPSON STYLUS PHOTO RX620 which was working fine before has now decided to display a 'printer error occurred - please see documentation' message. When I checked the user manual, it suggested i switch off, then on again and if that didn't work (which it didn't!) to contact my dealer. I had just replaced the ink cartidges, so I've given them a check over to see if anything was wrong there, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary, and I can't see or feel any jammed bits of paper. If anyone has any ideas about how to sort this out, I'd really appreciate the help linzy, Apr 25, 2007 #1 Sponsor eliseby Joined: Feb 2, 2008 Messages: 2 I know this is absolutely no help, but I get the same message on my rx620 printer screen. If I find out how to fix it I'll post a note. The only thing I found out is that a "repair" tech might be able to work it out for about $65. In the mean-time I bought a Kodak 5300 all-in-one ($22. for a combo pack of both ink cartridges). I haven't given up on a "home remedy" for my epson(yet). eliseby, Feb 2, 2008 #2 BIGBOBUK2008 Joined: Feb 26, 2008 Messages: 1 HI, Turn off the printer Hold down The Stop Button And The B & W Button Turn on the printer while holding the buttons down printer will reset good luck bigbobuk2008 BIGBOBUK2008, Feb 26, 2008 #3 eliseby Joined: Feb 2, 2008 Messages: 2 BIGBOBUK208, I just got notice of your posting. " Printer error occurred. Please see documentation." The ony button that responds is the "off/on button". No reponse from software on the computer either. I see no paper jam or anything blocking the printer. I unplugged the USB and power for 24 hours and had the same problems when I reconnected them. Is there a reset for this printer? Any https://forums.techguy.org/threads/epson-stylus-photo-rx620-help-please.566528/ suggestions? Thanks, Prof125 Respond to this 0 The error message appears to be a generic message. I have a similiar problem with a printer I am working on. I can see what the actual problem is...On mine, when you open the top up where you change the ink, there is a set of 2 http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/47098 gears on the left with a belt. My belt has come off of the gears and is jamming them. You might have a similiar issue. check all of the gears for jammed belts or broken gears. I just need to find a service manual to see how to take it apart. by Punisher2007 on Jun 26, 2007 at 1:51pm Add comment Please sign in to comment the printer keeps giving me this message "service requierd parts are at the end of its service life" "see printer documentation". Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX the printer and make sure the transportation lock is not on, it should be in the unlock position: Then try to scan again and see if the error is still there. If so, Unplug the printer sharply from the power outlet while it is still on > While the printer is off, press and hold the power button for 1 minuteFinally, while holding down the stop/cancel button (or just the power button if you don't have those), plug the printer back in, and power on the printer if it doesn't do so automatically, then try another scan. I am not sure exactly which step cured it, but here is what I did. 1) take a flashlight and check for ANY scraps of paper or foreign objects in the paper path (I found a tiny bit of Christmas garland in mine) 2)I took a cotton swab and carefully dabbed up some of the excess ink on the foam pad below where the print head runs 3) I reset the printer as suggested by others (with the printer off, hold down the "stop" and "BW" buttons turn on the power, it will come up with a message about "init eeprom", wait a few seconds, then turn the power back off 4) reset again, this time holding down the "stop" and "color" buttons while turning the power on The print head ran back and forth a few times, then the regular menu came up with no error!
