I recently purchased a new iMac running on OS X 10.8.2 and downloaded the print drivers. Printing has been fine, but everytime I print, I receive an added page the says:ERROR: timeoutOFFENDING COMMAND: timeoutSTACK:I would appreciate any advice. Thank you, JJS iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), OKI C530dn Posted on Jan 22, 2013 5:03 PM I have this question too Close Q: Printer error (offending command: timeout) All replies Helpful answers by lshaman, lshaman Dec 3, 2013 5:34 PM in response to schrager007 Level 1 (0 points) Dec 3, 2013 5:34 PM in response to schrager007 I have the exact same issue with my Okidata C330dn. After every print job, it prints off an extra page with that error message. This has been happening for 6 months now since I bought a (late 2012) imac. I updated to Mavericks but the problem remains. I have tried redownloading and installing any drivers I can find, but nothing has changed. Over the past half year, I have compiled probably 500 sheets of paper with the following error: ERROR: timeoutOFFENDING COMMAND: timeoutSTACK:Is there really no solution to this madness? It appears from the original post, at least 20 other people have seen this post and are having the same issue. The documents are printed successfully, but after every print job an error sheet is printed, which reads, verbatim: TextERROR: timeout OFFENDING COMMAND: timeout STACK: This happens every time a job is sent to the printer, and happens whether using the model-specific print driver from Oki or the generic driver in Yosemite. This problem does not occur with my Windows users, even when using PostScript drivers. I've already tried reinstalling the Oki drivers, running Oki's driver updater and using Repair Permissions on the OS disk https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4733715?start=0&tstart=0 in Disk Utility (for some reason the Yosemite upgrade messes up the printer library and the printers have the wrong permissions and group settings). While it's not such a big deal to remove the surplus sheets from the output tray, this error cumulatively wastes a lot of paper! Any advice would be much appreciated. Then, set up the printer again. http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201539 4 Thai Pepper OP skrysiak Dec 15, 2014 at 3:12 UTC raycaruso wrote: Do you have any other people printing from mac's with yosemite? I would say test with another machine, I had some issues with my Yosemite upgrade which forced me to do a clean install.Unfortunately I only have one Mac user here, so there are no comparable machines to hand that I can use to reproduce the problem or rule out a particular OS setup. After exhausting all the non-destructive solutions I'd already found online, including the one suggested by macfixer, a clean install of Yosemite fixed the problem. Thankfully this wasn't too intrusive for my user, as no user-created data was stored locally. Many thanks for your help. 1 Serrano OP raycaruso Dec 15, 2014 at 3:35 UTC Not the greatest solution, but unfortunately the Yosemite upgrade was a little buggy, seems to operate a little more smoothly after a clean install. 2 P
a PostScript error Applies to : Illustrator InDesign PageMaker Photoshop PostScript printer drivers You can receive a PostScript error when sending a file to a PostScript interpreter (for example, a printer, https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-postscript-errors.html Acrobat Distiller). A PostScript error occurs when the PostScript interpreter can't read the http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/62478 file's PostScript code. An error can also occur if the file's PostScript code exceeds one or more of the limits in the PostScript page description language. If your PostScript interpreter appears to process data but then stops, a PostScript error could have occurred.A PostScript error message includes a PostScript error type, which printer error defines the type of error it is. It also includes an offending command, which usually indicates the specific part of the PostScript code that the interpreter couldn't read. The offending command usually indicates the command that caused the problem. Some PostScript errors point you right to the cause of the problem, and some get you looking in the right direction.Example of a PostScript error:%%[Error: ; printer error offending OffendingCommand: ]%%For example, the PostScript error %%[Error: dictfull; OffendingCommand: def ]%% contains the PostScript error type "dictfull" and the offending command "def." The error type indicates that the dictionary contains the maximum number of entries. The offending command is the last command the PostScript interpreter tried to process, "def," which defines a new word in the dictionary. View or print a PostScript error message If you think a PostScript error has occurred, but it doesn't appear onscreen or in your printout, you can sometimes view or print the error message. Do one or more of the following:Use an error handler utility. For example, Adobe PageMaker has the Include PostScript Error Handler option in the Print Options dialog box.In Windows, configure the printer to print the error message:Note: In Windows NT, you cannot configure a printer to print an error message. Choose one of the following: Start > Settings > Printers (Windows 2000)Start > Printers And Faxes (Windows XP)Start > Control Panel > Printers (Windows Vista, Windows 7) Right-click the printer you are using, and then choose Printer Properties. Select the General tab, select Printing Preferences, and then click Advanced. Expand Document Options, and then exp
COMMAND: timeoutSTACK:---It may print on a separate sheet, or it may print at the top of a sheet, then print the rest of the content.Any suggestions?Thank youVictor Reinhart Respond to this 0 What Jetdirect card? If you have newer routers or upgraded servers, the issue may be throughput is too fast. Get a 620, or even the 10/100/1000. More printer memory may not help that much. by unknown on Jun 8, 2009 at 3:42pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You also might want to try a different print driver. Like if using a PCL6 driver try a PCL5 or vise versa. by nivek on Jun 8, 2009 at 4:34pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP DesignJet 100 Buy discount ink Buy this printer More HP questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc.
