the print spooler hanging. I have an HP deskjet 3550, W2K, Dell Inspiron 3800, connected via USB 2.0 PC Card. Print spooler hangs almost every time. I can't delete print jobs. I try to restart the print spooler service, I get this http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/print-spooler-hanging-error-12.1573093/ error: "Error 12: access code invalid." The service can't be started, and I have to restart Windows, just about every time. This is getting ridiculous. I've been running around in circles with HP support, reinstalled drivers several times, have taken steps to completely clean out the drivers then reinstall, the problem keeps happening then they sent me to MS'website. Great, thanks. I have SP 4 and all updates. Any ideas? Great, thanks. I have SP 4 and all updates. > Any ideas? When in Printers click file and server properties. On the drivers tab remove your drivers from here. It is quite possible that there is a problem with the driver you are using, try a newer or different one. If this fails there is a cleanspl.exe utility that will clear everything out for you. It come with the Windows 2003 resource kit, you can download from microsoft. Cleanspl will prompt to delete loads of things, DO NOT delete the standard tcp/ip port or the BJ monitor. If you do put the same driver back on again and it happens again, it is probably the driver you are using. Try a raw driver and not an installation disk.
