I had a Canon MP780 printer already installed but the printer portion of it stopped working, though the scanning portion of it still works. I tried to install the Windows 7 drivers for HP Photosmart C4400 but the keep telling me that there is an error with my printer spooler. I have gone into the spooler properties and everything looks set up right but when I try to manually start it I receive the same message. I am just looking for a fix so that I can print. I don't care how the fix occurs or if I use another program as long as it doesn't effect the rest of my computer and I don't have to pay an arm and leg for a simple fix like Dell and Microsoft want me to do. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. This is how to use sfc /scanow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833Good LuckHope you find the info useful Wednesday, January 20, 2010 4:34 P

Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified Posted on April 15, 2013 by Thomas Strubinger in Computer Repair When attempting to print or access printers all of them were missing. Trying to start print spooler from services.msc and get the following error "Could not start the Print Spooler service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified." The Fix for: Could not start the Print Spooler service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified on a similar version of windows go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\ and copy SPOOLSV.exe on to a flash https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/186dc55d-b423-4624-808c-07f1f177fb83/printer-spooler-error-2the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified?forum=itprovistahardware drive (You can also retrieve this file from the original CD) on the computer that has the issue paste this file in to the same place. Restart computer or start print spooler from services.msc The reason this happens usually this happens because some malware infested the file and then the anti-virus deletes due to infection. While this is a critical file for printing it will not affect the ability for your computer to boot. This could also be http://www.soflanetworking.com/computer-repair/fixed-could-not-start-the-print-spooler-service-on-local-computer-error-2-the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified/ caused by someone intentionally deleting the file, regardless the error states the file no longer exisit in the place the OS is looking for it. replacing the file will correct the issue. If you found this helpful, please leave a comment below. this has just worked for me, if you have this problem, give this a try: on the windows cd, copy SPOOLSV.EXE to C:\WINDOWS\system32. make sure the extension is exe (you might have to left click the file and add the last e), double click it. right click my computer, click manage, on the left click services and applications, click services. on the right side, look for print spooler, double left click on it, select start, close the system services window. this should fix that problem. up saying something like, http://outwardtruth.com/SUPPORT/printspoolererror2.htm there's no printer available and or install printer drivers and software. Uninstalling and reinstalling the software drivers fail to complete. Further https://www.techsupportall.com/print-spooler-is-not-running/ research shows me that the Print Spooler is stopped in the Computer Management/Service console. When I attempt to start the print spooler printer spooler service, the following error message pops up: "Could not start the Print Spooler service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified." Cause Missing Print Spooler File The missing file is the "spoolsv.exe" and should be located in the printer spooler service following location: C:\WINDOWS\system32 There are three options you can consider. The first is to copy the spoolsv.exe from a Windows XP CD and paste it in the following directory: C:\WINDOWS\system32 The second option is to simply copy it from another Windows XP computer and paste that file in the following location: C:\WINDOWS\system32 The third option is to simply download the file from this website, simply click the link spoolsv.exe Once the above is complete, the service must be started right click my computer, click manage, on the left click services and applications, click services. on the right side, look for print spooler, double left click on it, select start, close the system services window. That's it, you should be able to print now. © copyright 1999 Outwardtruth
