Probability of sampling error? This is one concept I cannot understand. I'm studying for a test and loathe the probability chapter. Here is the problem find probability given mean and standard deviation calculator and I following all of the right steps but can't get te answer that's in the book. x: 400: what is the probability that the sampling error made in estimating the mean score of all persons taking the test based on the sample of size 40 will be at most 10 points? Standar dev is 25. I cannot for the life of me figure this out. (390-400)/25\sqrt 40). And I'm getting -2.53. Which isn't correct. Probability of sampling error? -2.53 isn't a probability. You have to do something to that (probably using a normal table) to get a probability.
