the printing of questionnaires. Most processing errors occur in data for individual units, although errors can also be introduced in the implementation of systems and estimates. In survey data, for example, processing sample selection error errors may include errors of transcription, errors of coding, errors of data entry and errors of arithmetic in tabulation (The International Statistical Institute, “The Oxford Dictionary of Statistical Terms”, edited by Yadolah Dodge, Oxford University Press, 2003). Unfortunately, where the error points you to can be misleading. The “something” is sometimes just fine and the actual error is caused by the line before or after that piece of code. Anytime you forget or include an improper comma, semi-colon, quote, parentheses, bracket, etc., you’ll get this error. Here are some examples: Incorrect: int val = 5 Correct: int val = 5; Found one too many { characters without a } to match it Translation: You forgot to close a block of code, such as an if statement, a loop, a function, a class, etc. Incorrect: void setup() { for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { if (i > 5) { line(0,i,i,0); println("i is greater than 5"); } } Correct: void setup() { for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { if (i > 5) { line(0,i,i,0); println("i is greater than 5"); } } } No accessible field named "myVar" was found in type "Temporary_7665_1082” Translation: I don’t know about the variable “myVar.” It’s not declared anywhere I can see. Hopefully the information on this page will help. I've found a bug! Please use the forum for general troubleshooting questions, especially if it's something like Processing not starting up properly, or sketches not processing error definition running. What To Do First, read through this page. Second, also check the Supported Platforms page in case it's something specific to your operating system. Third, check the Forum. The Forum is the place for "this isn't working" type questions. Fourth, search the bug database to see if your problem has already been reported. What Not To Do Please do not: Submit an issue saying "Processing is broken" or "Processing won't start". That's not helpful (see below). Reinstall Java, it does nothing and just adds to the noise. If it's a bug If you don't find your problem, submit a new issue here. When reporting please include information about The version number (i.e. 3.1.2) The operating system you're using (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.), and on what kind of hardware A copy of the smallest possible piece of code that will produce the error Details of the error, like the red spew that you see in the console. Only one issue per report! Each issue should be one... issue. It's not a point-by-point letter for the development team. If you have multiple issues, file them separately. If multiple issues are in one report, it'll be closed. For best results: Write a useful title for the report. "Processing broken" or "visual problem" are dreadful titles. The first one isn't helpful because you're reporting an is
or another blunder.[1] Types[edit] There are four types of administrative errors: Data-processing error: A category of administrative error that occurs in data processing because of incorrect data entry, incorrect computer programming or other error during data analysis. Sample selection error: Selection bias: an administrative error caused by improper selection of a sample during a survey, resulting in accidental bias in the results. Interviewer error: This type of administrative error is caused by failure of an interviewer to correctly pose questions or record responses. Interviewer error generally leads to biased results, and perhaps to an increase in variability.[2] Interviewer cheating: The practice of filling in fake answers or falsifying questionnaires while working as an interviewer.
