PS3 Does Not Turn On¶ Your PS3 will not boot. Power http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=93978 Cable¶ Verify that the power cable is plugged in properly and not loose. Also, verify that your source of power (the outlet) functions correctly. Yellow Light of Death¶ The indicator light on the PlayStation 3 starts green, switches to yellow, and then quickly switches to red, and blinks indefinitely. The PlayStation 3 will display this error for two different reasons. https://www.ifixit.com/Wiki/PlayStation_3_Troubleshooting To determine what is causing the error on your console, turn the console on, and listen closely for the fan. If the fan powers on briefly, and then switches off, you have an issue with the motherboard. If the fan does not power on at all, then you likely have an issue with the power supply. Motherboard¶ The most common cause of the YLOD error and the PlayStation 3 failing to boot is a hardware malfunction on the motherboard. The error is caused by the failure of the solder joints between the CPU and GPU and the motherboard. This error can be fixed by re-soldering the chips to the motherboard, and, while not a 100% guaranteed fix, it is the best option for repairing the YLOD. iFixit offers both kits and guides to facilitate this fix. Power Supply¶ One cause of the PlayStation 3 not booting is a faulty power supply. A much smaller percentage of PS3 consoles will display the yellow light as a result of a faulty power supply. If the power supply is

this is not a 360 :) JCbluesideMember Sithe message "Cannot connect to Netflix. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please visit netflix.com/help on your computer" each time you try to use your Netflix disk to watch movies on your PS3, this brief tutorial will show you the answer. Dec 24-25 2012 Update: Netflix appears to be having a system wide outage. None of the troubleshooting steps below will help at this moment - the problem is not on your end. Keep trying again until Netflix restores its service. NOTE: the first thing to check is the comment section below. Sometimes Netflix experiences a widespread outage - and even the steps in this tutorial will not resolve the problem. If you notice a large number of people leaving very recent comments saying ‘this didn't work' - it's because Netflix itself is experiencing an outage, and no troubleshooting you can do will resolve the problem. The rest of the time, follow the instructions outlined below (and it can't hurt to confirm them even if you think it's a problem on Netflix's side). It's actually quite simple, although I wish it was more clearly explained on the Netflix Help Site. You need to adjust the time and date settings on your Playstation 3, Wii or other Netflix streaming device. To do this, select Settings from the Playstation 3 dashboard, and scroll down to Date and Time Settings. In my case, the year was off by one (2011 instead of 2010). From the Date and Time Settings menu, select Set via Internet. You should get a confirmation that the date and time set were completed. And the date and time will now be correct :). Now run the Netflix disc again - and this time the process will go through smoothly, and you'll be watching movies/TV shows in no time! If you're not using a PS3 and are experiencing this error, make sure the Time and Date settings on your device (Wii, Boxee Box etc) are set correctly. Aaron I can't believe I found the answer to the problem so quickly, thank you so much for posting this! You have got to be kidding me! Grass roots internet is the way of the future, there is so much information available at the stroke of a few keys. I just can't believe stupid Sony didn't post this info on their site. Their "help" section is a joke, it doesn't even list this as a possible problem. Desiree Thank you so much. Apparently my clock was off my 40 minutes, but that was enough to kill it. This fixed it. n_n ashley didnt work Matt still not working… My time was perfect and I still tried to set by internet. Still getting "Cannot connect to netflix, please try again later" Anne I found in the Playstation forums that moving the ye
