It told me to perform a system update. I attempted this and now I am stuck in a loop that says the update failed due to error 8002F14E. It tells me to reboot https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/54848/Any+info+on+PS3+error+code+8002F14E and try again. I do this and get the same error. It won't let me to any main menus just only to a screen that has me hit x and it errors out. I have tried reboots, unplugging it, holding down the power until it is supposed to reset. Basically everything I could think of. Do any of you have any other ideas? It looks like it is a brick at this point. I tried to take it back http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3/PS3-Problem-with-software-update-Error-8002F14E/td-p/13262853 to Target. . . its 10 days out of the 90 for exchanges. I called Sony and it looks like they are going to make me ship it back.Any suggestions would help.-Ahmi of One Report FB Tweet G+ Message 1 of 12 (25,833 Views) Reply 0 Likes Dazzler~ First Son Registered: 05/21/2007 Offline 1 posts 05-21-2007 02:12 PM User Info Dazzler~ ADD AS A FRIEND Re: PS3 Problem with software update Error 8002F14E Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report May 21, 2007 I had this problem.Go to the UK PS3 official site and access the download PS3 updates page.Download the latest PS3 updates from this site onto a USB Memory Stick, saved in a Folder PS3\UPDATES (must be in capitals).Plug the memory stick into any of the USB ports on the PS3 and try to run the update again.I had to swith it off, and back on again numerous times still getting the same error but then for no reason it decided to complete the update and now everything is ok.Need to be a bit patient with it (I admit I nearly gave up with it) but it seems to do the trick eventually. Your PlayStation https://newagesoldier.com/how-to-fix-playstation-3-update-error-8002f14e/ 3 console’s Blu-Ray Drive was not found or disconnected. It would really be nice if they just flat out said this, instead of giving you a series of numbers, but yes this means there is some kind of issue with how your http://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/386771 console is communicating with your Blu-ray drive. So what should you do to repair this issue? Well luckily there are several ways. 1) Call Sony and see if it is still within warranty. If it is, be sure to send it in ps3 error for repair do not do anything beyond this step if it is. 2) Open your console, and you will see a ribbon cable beneath your power supply that connects to your Blu-ray drive. Checked it for any scrapes or cuts that could be exposing the metal inside. If it is damaged, you might want to order a new one. This ribbon cable will be specific for your model type. For example, here is a CECHK01 or CECHH01 model ribbon cable for sale on ebay. If ps3 error code there is no visible damage to the cable, you can place a wadded up electric tape ball on top of the ribbon cable clip that holds it in place to help keep the contacts touching. 3) If you replaced the ribbon cable and tried pushing the contacts down with some electric tape and you’re still not getting past this update error, then the drive just might be damaged all together. If you are using a modded console and are on a custom firmware, you might want to try using the MFW Builder. This will change your CFW (Custom Firmware) to a (Modified Firmware). You can remove the Blu-Ray drive portion of the update PUP file to get around this error number. It worked for me. Of course, you will need to pull out the PS3 hard drive and put it in to your computer to format it to get out of the update loop and boot in to safe mode on your PS3 to give it another PUP update file. I posted about this on PS3Hax and in my case it was from ordering a used PS3 on ebay and it worked fine for several months and had several updates done to it just fine. But then stopped receiving the newer updates so I opened it up and the ribbon cable had a cut in it which made contact with the metal in the case and shorted out the blu-ray drive board. But, since I’m on a CFW I can just load gam

The update failed and now I receive error code 8002F147. I've gone through Sony's tongue in cheek joke they call troubleshooting (unplug the unit, wait a few minutes, then boot up again) but still get the error code. I found a guide that indicated how to boot into safe mode (essentially holding the power button through a cycle of beeps), but I can't get to the menu. I've tried pulling out the hard drive and trying to get to safe mode and doing the same and trying to get the update to initialize, but I still get the error code. And now, I'm in the process of formatting the hard drive to fat32 on my pc and will throw it back in and repeat the safe mode attempts, etc. As Sony wisely chose a 1 year warranty (for my 2 year old system), I'm on the hook for $110 bucks + shipping to send it to them and get a refurb or new replacement unit. Update - please read on for how I solved the problem.
