has been known to occur if the source server has "Compare public keys" field set to Enforce, and the destination what is public key in lotus notes server has that field set to No. This setting is found in the Server document -> Security tab -> Security Settings section. In one case, Server documents for each server were copied to invalid document store key lotus notes the address book of the other Domain with no success. However, the issue was resolved by rebuilding the index of the address book on the source server. Most likely adding the Server document of the destination server to the address book on the source server was a necessary change as Compare Public Key was enabled there and rebuilding the index allowed the server to see that change. Note: If comparing of the public key is enabled for a server, every entity, whether it is a user or a server, needs to be explicitly cross-certified. The message can also be seen when attempting to route mail as follows: Error connection to server: "Your public key was not found in the Domino Directory". In this case, the source server had the "Compare public keys" field set to Enforce (which is found in the Server document, Security tab, Security Settings section), and the destination server has that field set to No. After setting both to "NO", the index had to be rebuilt on the Source Server Domino Directory. In previous releases of Lotus Notes, this was simply done by selecting Tools -> User ID -> Copy Public Key. Answer Copying the public key from the ID file - Notes 6 and above To copy a Certified Public Key from a Notes ID file, perform the following steps from the Admin client: 1. Select and open the ID file to be examined, then enter the password (Person ID, Server ID or Certificate ID). 4. From the ID Properties window, select Your Identity, then select Your Certificates. 5. Have the end user select the following options to mail the administrator a copy of their public key: File -> Security -> User Security -> Your identity -> Your Certificates -> Other Actions -> Mail, copy certificate (Public Key)... -> Mail Certificate -> fill out "To" -> Send Pasting the public key into the Domino Directory 1. Open the user's person document in the Domino Directory (names.nsf). 2. Click Edit Person. 3. Select the Certificates tab. 4. Delete the entire contents of the "Notes Certified Public Key" field, and choose Edit, Paste to paste the new key in this field. I would check your logs and the AdminP DB to see if there were any errors. After registration the person has to appear in the Public Address Book. After that installing the client should go OK.
