When I insert the CD and select "Install," QB first tries to load Macromedia Flash Player 7. It errors out and says: Cannot install "Flash Player 7" from "E:\ThirdParty\Flash7\install_flash_player_7.msi". It then instructs me to go to the Macromedia website to download "Flash Player 7." I installed the current version from the web - Version 8, bu the way - and tried to reinstall QB, but I continue to get the same "Error: 1603" message. Any one have any ideas? The installer is checking the player to make sure that it is 7.0. it may not check if +> 7.0 but just = 7.0. __________________ Joe Williams joewilliams@wavelinx.net Piedmont, Ok Joe Williams View Public Profile Find all posts by Joe Williams #3 05-11-2006, 07:18 AM mmbetz Registered User Join Date: Jun 2002 Location: Michigan Posts: 28 Thanks for the reply, Joe. There was no option to "ignore" or "skip" the installation request. I started the installation again so I could tell you exactly what the dialog box said and - lo and behold - QB actually got past the Flash section and installed properly! It's hard to imagine why the fifth time was the charm. I downloaded Flash 8 and confirmed the installation worked properly. I even rebooted a couple of times, just because. But it still hung at that point yesterday. It's a mystery. Maybe the computer needed the night off. mmbetz View Public Profile Find all posts by mmbetz #4 01-01-2011, 07:01 PM jimdaugherty Registered User Join Date: Mar 2009 Posts: 6 Here is the link to several approaches to solve the problem that were successful. http://forums.quickbooksusers.com/sh...ad.php?t=38291 Hope this helps. jimdaugherty View Public Profile Find all posts by jimdaugherty Boo
