when exporting video. At the end it fails and I get an error message. It reads compressor quicktime error 120 "Quicktime Error: -50". Does anyone else know what this is?It has happened when exporting both in FCPX, or in compressor, or the share quicktime error 50 fcpx monitor. It does not happen when I'm simply exporting the media, but it almost always happens when I export as any different format. It particularly likes to do this when I "share" to Vimeo. iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 4GB RAM, FCPX Posted on Sep 2, 2012 12:08 AM I have this question too by Russ H,Solvedanswer Russ H Level 7 (21,825 points) Quicktime A: There are a variety of proposed fixes in this thread - because it spans a lot of FCP and OS versions and differnt user issues.SInce you're recently getting this error on Mavericks, I'd suggest you go into Applications and right click on the Final Cut Pro app file. Choose Get Info and check the Prevent App Nap box.Russ Posted on Nov 21, 2013 9:46 AM See the answer in context Close Q: What is quicktime error -50? I selected all of my media in the event and all but a few jpegs and one audio file were optimized. So I optimized that media, deleted all of my render files, rebooted my iMac, rendered the timeline, and sent it to Vimeo. Sure enough, I got another -50 Quicktime error.I was able to use share/export media to export a full size file. That file I was able to run through compressor, and I was able to get it on Vimeo (eventually). But it's driving me nuts that the FCPX direct-to-vimeo feature doesn't work. project was edited in FCPX. My work flow from FCX is Share/YouTube, I fill in the necessary YT blanks and choose 1080p & better quality(multi-pass). I have tried 3 times and always get the same warning Quicktime Error;-50. The Share Monitor advises that it has 100% uploaded in 1:16:25. Any suggestion? Check that the codec used by the file is recommended for use in your editing application. Suggested Actions * If your sequence codec is set to a long-GOP codec such as HDV, H.264, XDCAM, AVCHD http://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,36671,36676 or MPEG-2, set your sequence codec to ProRes. * For best results, convert all long-GOP media to ProRes. * Make sure all images are RGB, not CMYK. * Ensure all images are less than 4000 pixels in width and height. * Use Corrupt Clip Finder to locate the corrupt clip. * After the corrupt file is located, use QT Repair or Media Salvage to fix it. * Make sure your files do not have Digital Rights Management (DRM) that prevent them being played outside of their intended application. Some files purchased from the iTunes Store will have DRM. * Make sure you are using AIFF or WAV audio files. months ago by Jean Bovet Hello! I'm facing a very annoying issue when trying to share my project from Final Cut Pro X. It used to work perfectly fine but now I'm getting consistently "QuickTime Error -50" after FCPX exported about 10% of my project. Published (2014-01-19 08:55:00) As I recall, 10.0.8 had the most reports of failed exports of any version. 10.0.9 fixed a lot of those issues but it's too late to update; now you would be limited to 10.1. If you're in the midst of an important project, you might understandably choose not to update.
