Did you search the COW?Return to posts indexReport Post•Re: quicktime codec error (-8966) Photo jpeg?by Rafael Macho on Nov 8, 2006 at 9:34:59 pmI searched but I didn't find anything to that specific case of photo-jpeg compression. Funy part is that I used that compression on some jobs in the past, and we had no problems. We were using G5s.Return to posts indexReport Post•Post removed.<< PREVIOUS • VIEW ALL • PRINT • NEXT >>© 2016 CreativeCOW.net All Rights Reserved[TOP]

I got a big problem!I have a quicktime error 2041 project in Final Cut Pro 7.0, and every time I open a project quicktime export error -2147023174 (any project, or just the application itself via the dock), I get an error message saying "Codec not found. You codecfix download may be using a compression type without a corresponding hardware card." Then, after clicking "OK", I am greeted to a half-open project: the Browser and Viewer are open to the project, but the https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/891269 timeline and canvas aren't open, and are greyed out in the "window" menu. Thus, final cut is inoperable. I can open a clip in the browser and play it in the viewer, but that's about it.All my footage is shot with a Nikon D5100, 1080p .MOV's.My computer is a Late 2008 iMac, with 4gb of RAM and 175gb of free space on both my harddrive https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3561707?tstart=0 and external harddrive. It's running Lion 10.7.1My final cut is version 7.0 and I am not able to update it (long story, I don't wanna get into it).Quicktime player is acting normal, I am able to open the files in finder and play them in Quicktime, so it seems that any missing codecs aren't affecting it. I looked at other answers on here and they didn't seem to help. I looked in the Quicktime folder in ~/Library to check my codecs, and there are so many, I'm not sure if anything's missing. This problem is very sudden, I haven't touched my Library folder in months and the last time I opened final cut, a few weeks ago, all was well. I am in dire need of a fix pretty soon, thanks in advance for all your help!!! After Effects error: Compressing frame quicktime codec error of movie — QuickTime codec error (-8966).

Quicktime Codec Problem mAxximo Mac Enthusiast Join Date:Jan 2002 Status: Offline Apr 28, 2006, 11:55 AM Hey, My Dual G5 2.0 is having problems rendering Quicktime movies to the Photo-JPEG codec in After Effects 7. An Error (-8966) comes up. All the other codecs and frame sequences seem to work right, and the same project renders fine to Photo-JPEG in a different G5. How can I fix this? I zeroed the disk and reinstall 10.3.9 about two weeks ago. All my apps are fresh installed too from the original disks. Unfortunately Tiger is not an option, I tried upgrading and the machine fell apart thanks to Quicktime 7. But that's another story... Thanks in advance...
