Location: florida When I try to sign on my screen name it gets to 'verifying name and password' then gives me the message "Rate limiting occured during sign on. Try again later." Right before that my aim had been acting an anonymous ftp server that is configured to hide directory listings from the client is called: werid- I was talking to only one person and not sending messages fast and the bar that aim rate limit exceeded goes red when you send to many to fast just became red, well i thought that was werid but didnt think twice about it. Then
Sign On Failed Rate Limit Reached Aim
it signed me off (but that could have been because my internet connection is screwy and is always doing that) anyway i tried to sign back on and i got that message. I had NO warning at all, now i cant http://bigblueball.com/discuss/topic/rate-limit-aim-wont-sign-back-on/ get on that screen name from any computer at all. I have waited over 17 hours to try again once. It keeps saying this even though I wait. I need help, i cant create a new screen name, i cant get all my buddy list back and i really like that screen name. Please help. Have you tried AIM Express? See if you can sign on with that. If not, then I would wait for another 7 hours unfortunatly. I had this problem once before, and it booted my for 24 hours. James, Sep 11, 2003 #2 Advertisements larka Joined: Sep 10, 2003 Messages: 4 Location: florida tried express... didnt work.. k so just wait a long while again? larka, Sep 11, 2003 #3 James Photojournalist VIP Member Joined: Dec 24, 2002 Messages: 6,662 Location: Maine, USA Yep, wait. What version of AIM are you using? You could try removing it and installing the latest version (to possibly cure any issues with the bug you were talking about). Or you could go to OldVersion.com and get an older version. James, Sep 11, 2003 #4 larka Joined: Sep 10, 2003 Messages: 4 Location: florida i got the new version but i didnt uninstall the old version first, should i just uninstal it all then re-instal it? larka, Sep 11, 2003 #5 larka Joined: Sep 10, 2003 Messages: 4 Location: florida thank you it is working now, but i am antisipating it to screw up again, just my luck. Well i'll post if it does, thanks, all i had to do is wait (but it was unessicarily long) larka, Sep 11, 2003 #6 James Photojournalist VIP Member Joined: Dec 24, 2002 Messages: 6,662 Location: Maine, USA Glad it's working. Usually you don't have to remove the old version first
