contact your network administrator or Microsoft Product Support. Turns out the problem is related to the Terminal Services Gateway not having remote desktop an internal error has occurred windows 7 a certificate configured. To resolve this follow these steps: Open TS Gateway Manager MMC Select your server in the Left hand pane In the Middle pane, click "View or modify certificate properties" Click "Select https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/850fbbc5-6591-4849-9da6-b72ed097c1c9/rww-an-internal-error-occurred-error-50331688?forum=smallbusinessserver an existing Certificate for SSL encryption (recommended)" Click "Browse Certificates…." Select the correct 3rd party certificate from the list, and then click "Install" Click "Apply", and then try to connect via RWW again. This should also resolve any issues you have when trying to connect in via RDP when using a Terminal Services Gateway. Checking SBS Sharepoint's SSL bindings for the proper certificate should fix this error without taking the server out of SBS configuration. the Server through RWW you get the following error:- ------------------ VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected ------------------ An internal error has occurred (error 50331688). For more information, please contact https://susguperf.wordpress.com/2009/11/28/unable-to-connect-to-server-using-rww-error-50331688/ your network administrator or Microsoft Product Support. ------------------ OK ------------------ 2. If you try to connect to the server through TS Gateway you get the following error: ------------------ Remote Desktop Disconnected ------------------ This computer can’t connect to the remote computer because no certificate was configured to use at the Terminal Services Gateway server. Contact your network administrator for assistance. ------------------ OK Help ------------------ When you remote desktop get the above error - you have an option the view certificate and copy to a file -- later you can install it on your computer. However if that certificate is invalid, you will get the same error again -> On the TS Gateway server, if you open TS Gateway Manager and select the server, on the middle pane you will see Configuration status vbscript remote desktop as below: "A server certificate is not yet installed or selected" Cause:- There is some problem with the Certificate configuration of TS Gatway. Most probably the proper certificate is not bound to the website which has rpc VDIR. Resolution:- 1. Open TS Gateway Manager ->select the Server -> in the middle pane, click on "View or modify certificate properties" 2. click on the Browse Certificates 3. Select the proper certificate issued to your domain and click install This should fix the issue. After doing the above step you might also get a red cross on the server page in TS Gateway manager with the following: "IIS is not configured for TS Gateway" These steps are mentioned considering the fact that the rpc and rpcwithcert Virtual Directories are under Default Website. The below steps should not be followed on SBS2008 as we have SBS Web Applications website under which both these Virtual Directories reside. -> to fix the above, click on "Configure IIS settings for TS Gateway" and click on Yes <- this step will configure Default Website for port 443 with the proper certificate that we selected in TS Gateway Server Certificate
