You may install the RD Licensing Role Service on the same server as the RD Session Host Role Service if desired. 2.In RD Session Host Configuration (tsconfig.msc), please make sure that your RD Licensing server is Specified and the Licensing mode matches the type of RDS CALs you purchased. For example, if you purchased/installed Per User RDS CALs, make sure that it is set to Per User. 3.After verifying the above is correct, please try to connect from a mac again. Thanks. -TP Wednesday, November 09, 2011 11:24 PM Reply | Quote Moderator 1 Sign in to vote TP, thanks for the tips but it does not help.ts cal license config on the server is not the issue.the server obtains user CAL fromvalid TS lic servers and it works for windowsclients but not for mac. the mac clients were connecting to 2

I am having 10.6+ MAC OS X remote into Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/8e28b0af-b374-4ca0-a255-5fd854bdc7fa/rdc-for-mac-cannot-connect-to-ts-server-with-error-message-you-were-disconnected-from-the?forum=winserverTS Standard and they are getting the above error. I have heard of solutions but can not find one that works when I test it. The Server works perfectly fine for Windows PCs and I am using CoRD at the moment which works but the managers of the company dislike it and want to use Remote Desktop provided by Microsoft. -Dan Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: Remote desktop licensing ? However I see RDC working in corporate situations of other companies. Also have heard people find solutions but they never detail what the solution actually is. 0 Cayenne OP Gideon Braver Aug 23, 2012 at 4:24 UTC ddemers wrote: Already have done this. =( The issue is RDC only works technically with 10.6 not Lion or Mountain Lion .7 and .8. I can anecdotally say that RDC works on 10.7 and 10.8 when connecting to 2008R2. Are you using the most recent RDC version 2.1.1? 0 Cayenne OP tbasham_ms Aug 2
comment When connecting with a Mac using RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) on a Windows server, you might encounter http://www.noelpulis.com/fix-mac-rdp-disconnected-windows-based-computer-problems-licensing-protocol/ a message saying "You were disconnected from the Windows-based computer https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28247878/OSX-Mac-RDP-Clients-cannot-connect-to-Terminal-Server-2012-because-of-problems-during-the-licensing-protocol.html because of problems during the licensing protocol". This has to do with permissions, thou it's not a problem with your configuration. This is a bug with RDC for MAC Version 2.1.1 Thou there is no solution until now, it is suggested to install remote desktop the hot-fix below RDC for MAC v2.1.2 (Early Build Hotfix) After installing the hot-fix, you will be able to connect to your Terminal Server. Solved OSX Mac RDP Clients cannot connect to Terminal Server 2012 because of problems during the licensing protocol Posted on 2013-09-24 Windows Server 2012 Remote Access Mac OS X 2 Verified Solutions 5 Comments 6,324 Views Last Modified: 2013-10-02 Last month I replaced our old windows server with Windows 2012 Terminal Server. After the install, I installed Microsoft Remote Desktop 2.1.1 on all of my Apple Mac OSX 10.8 iMacs. All was working perfectly. After what I think is 45 days all my Apple Macs suffered the same problem when trying to establish a RDP connection. See attached Image: "You were disconnected from the windows-based computer because of problems during the licensing protocol." If I try connecting from a spare PC using Remote Desktop and the same user credentials I am able to log in fine. This means the user has permission to log on. The Terminal Server is refusing connections from all my Apple Macs. If this is really a Licensing Protocol issue, I wonder if the problem is caused by temporary Device CALS expiring? I am fully licensed with plenty of CAL's, It should be applying device cal's to Apple Macs. I need help diagnosing the problems here. Is there a log file I can read on the Terminal Server that tells me exactly why it refuses connections from my Apple Macs? Is there a way to flush out the device cals or check to see if they are allocated properly to my Apple Macs? Thanks mchallinor MacRDP.png 0 Ques
