See the section "How to remove and reseat cartridges" (below) for detailed instructions. Relatch the empty carriages and close the printer. Open the printer and reinsert and relatch the cartridges. displaying the "check cartridge" error. What else can I do to reset it or clear the error? It's no longer under warranty. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Respond to this 2 Hi, I'm another one who just got into the 'pissed-off' group. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00042821 My PSC 2355 somehow refuses to recognize the original cartridge which came with the printer. I didn't use it for some months and, just when I tried to use it again, voila! stopped working. Made some cleaning on everything 'cleanable' and yet nothing. Does any one knows any special key combo (in my printer, enabled by pressing Left+Right buttons, and then 1,2,3 or 1,2,4 bottons) which disables or overrides the cartridge checking? (By the way, the printer makes IS able to print color test pages perfectly, http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/26232 so both the cartridges work)Thanks in advance. by Anonymous on Dec 11, 2005 at 5:20am Add comment Please sign in to comment 1 My 2210 message tells me to align print cartridges. It only prints 3 lines and cancels. I have tried new cartridges and cleaning with alchol and swabs. Message will not go away. by unknown on Aug 4, 2005 at 8:26am Add comment Please sign in to comment Installed new black cartridge #56 for printer and and removed and re-installed it 4 times today and am constantly getting message to Press Enter to align cartridges. It really does work. - Anonymous 1 Ive joined the "pissed off group" Can anyone tell me how to sort out the "paper mismatch" error???? I replaced it with a brand new Rymans remanufactured cartridge with a 2008 expiry date printed on the box. No change. I tried many of the fixes suggested on here with no success.Today I went out and bought a HP black cartridge and installed it. Immediate success. This does look as if HP has done something to ensure that we keep

Before, it had been flashing ink low, so we figured that's what it wanted, that the ink was finally remove and check gone. We didn't need to do much printing at that time, so I didn't buy new ink cartidges until a few weeks ago. Despite adding new cartidges, and checking several times, it's still flashing "Remove and Check Cartidge" and the hardware is basically incapacitated as it won't even scan, let alone print. We had a virus on our computer, so we figured maybe that was the issue, but even after formatting the hard drive and setting up the computer all over again, the printer continues to flash, "Remove and Check Cartidge" with the yellow print, fax, scan, and copy buttons all flashing simultaneously. Any suggestions? Thanks, Evelynn Evelynn January 2005 There is more help available. Search for - remove, check how to repair this information yoovy mix May 2014 I have always replaced the cartridges and had no problem, until recently. So I checked the parts. The cover for the black ink cartridge has a tiny part that has broken off. I can tell by comparing it to the cover for the color ink cartridge. So I googled parts for the HP printer I have (2210 all-in-one) and found the part, refurbished, for $35. Well worth it to avoid cost of a new printer, IF I trust myself to replace it correctly. Though the error has cleared, it may come back in the future, or other problems such as slow printing may occur. To fix these problems, download the latest firmware update from HP. A link to this information is in the "See also" section at the end of this topic. If the error message is still displayed on the LCD, the firmware update probably will not fix the problem. The update does fix other problems, however, and it should be installed when it is convenient. If the steps above did not solve the problem, do the following to find out which cartridge is causing the error:Remove the right cartridge and refasten the latch. Leave the left cartridge in place.Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display. If the LCD display reads Insert Right Cartridge , the right cartridge may be causing the problem.
