I firststarted off with fedora cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base/7/x86_64 and also trying my hands on CentOS now.Basically i used yum to error: cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: epel download softwares on the fedora box. I mainlyrequire the snmp agent for my linux boxes so as to test http://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21633 my networkmanagement product. On some of the CentOS boxes the following commandworked for me :yum install net-snmpit installed the snmp agent for me but on others i am finding it hard toinstall. I can telnet and http out from the server, so don't think it is network related, but I did add a new Windows 2000 server to the network about a week ago. Any direction would be most appreciated. You can start the problem solving process with yum by: yum clean all yum clean dbcache yum clean metadata then try yum again Sometimes the mirrors are busy / down, so it can just be an issue related to timing.
