8 Years Ago A friend of mine said this would be the place to get some answers that there was a bunch of smart people at this site. I can usually dig till I figure things out but this time it’s a no go. I bought a Toshiba satellite resource conflict pci on motherboard toshiba satellite P105-S6177 with no hard drive. Installed a 7200 Seagate 160 gb. Used the recovery disk and how to fix resource conflict pci on motherboard loaded Vista. It worked great for a day, then I uninstalled Microsoft office and re-booted here is what the boot screen says. via my laptop's onboard wireless adapter (Broadcom 4318). After 'repairing' connection several times, I inspected the device mgr, where I found a yellow-! hovering over my wireless adapter. Shortly thereafter the hard-locks began. But reboots still gave me fits. Many times, the hard drive & CD-ROM lights would remain lit for ~30 secs, then go out. That's it. Nothing. No boot. Couldn't even boot to a Bootable CD. Couldn't even get into the BIOS (F2). The display screen showed absolutely nothing. Sukage maximus. Subsequent troubleshooting revealed that using a fan to blow cold resource conflict air on the bottom of the (warm) laptop for 5 or 10 minutes solved the problem. (Every time.) I get an error saying: "Resource Conflict - PCI Serial Bus Controller on Motherboard". There are no devices attached to the laptop. And when I try to go into the Setup to try to boot from a CD it still does not work. Basically I am not reaching the Windows part of the setup. If it is you can try to enter the BIOS and reset everything to it's basic setting and try again.The error message that you are getting is telling you that some devices directly connected to the M'Board are in conflict and are attempting to share the same resources. This generally happens when the BIOS has been incorrectly setup or the M'Board is failing.NB's by their very nature lead a hard life and quite often it can be a short life depending on how they are treated.
