D Link Di 624 Router Setup

months ago I purchased a dir-655 router. I got around to installing it today. I popped the installation CD in my drive, and chose the "install router" link. I followed the steps carefully to set up the router, chose the various passwords, and I get to the step where it states "configuring router settings". After waiting for several minutes I get this message "Error 302: Internal Code Router Setup d link router setup software Cannot Continue" I follow the directions it lists by exiting the program, taking the cd up, and restarting my PC. I still get the same error when I try again after a reboot. Can anyone help in figuring out what is going wrong? Also I am able to get on to the internet through the router. Do I even need to run this installation CD? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. If I were you I'd print or save to text doc. the manual and put that cd back in the box. http://192.168.0.1 and the pass is "admin" if you haven't changed it.Also inside the router "setup" pages after you log in are some very helpful "support" pages. « Last Edit: August 31, 2009, 04:21:14 AM by jason1722x » Logged Print Pages: [1] « previous next » D-Link Forums > D-Link Xtreme N (Platinum Products) > DIR-655 > error 302 SMF 2.0.11 | SMF © 2015, Simple Machines XHTML RSS WAP2 BlackRain , 2006 by Crip

It comes with a easy install CD, however for some reason I can't get through it. It goes all the way http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=7686.0 through until it gets to the verifying router settings during step 7 of the process, I always get the Error 302 internal error. Is there something my computer is missing or am I just doing something wrong? vahnyamato, Sep 15, 2009 #1 Sponsor JohnWill Retired Moderator Joined: Oct 19, 2002 Messages: 106,414 You don't need any software to install a router. The following procedure should get you a connection with https://forums.techguy.org/threads/dlink-dir-615-wireless-n-router-help.861228/ any broadband modem that is configured to use DHCP for the router connection, such as cable modems, and many DSL modems. If you require PPPoE configuration for the DSL modem, that will have to be configured to match the ISP requirements. Note that the wireless encryption and channel selection will have to be done after the basic wired connection is established, the first step is to get wired connections working. Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on. Turn off everything, the modem, router, computer. Connect the modem to the router's WAN/Internet port. Connect the computer to one of the router's LAN/Network ports. Turn on the modem, wait for a steady connect light. Turn on the router, wait for two minutes. Boot the computer. When the computer is completely booted, let's see this. Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD (COMMAND for W98/WME) to open a command prompt: NOTE: For the items below in red surrounded with < >, see comments below for the actual information content, they are value substitutions from the previous command output! In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands one at a time, followed by the Enter key: IPCONFIG /ALL PING
