It looks like the RunDLL file is corrupted. Which service pack you are using? If your service pack is not updated try updating the service pack so that the RunDLL file can be updated. You can also http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/258676-45-control-panel-open do the otherway. Copy working RunDLL file from someone's working PC from the location find'c:\\windows\system32\rundll32.exe and overwrite it in your find'c:\\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. Try it in safe mode. Let me know if it works. http://www.dll-files.com will also help you to find working version of your corrupted DLL files. Unfortunately I was unable to carry out the 8 step process as directed because I am unable to get the apps to work due to them crashing. I cannot even reformat - maybe DOS? This is my last resort tho' I also get a savedump. exe app error when I reboot too. I was unable to change account user becasue I cannot access the control panel - this is when I get the rundll,32 error. Hope this helps. It's a virus that uses my computer's registry to operate and shuts down any application. I went to this webpage and followed instructions to remove the virus: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-internet-security-2011 One of the steps required that I install "FixNCR.reg" in order to fix my computer's registry. After that I was able to use Malwarebytes to successfully remove the virus files and stop their processes. I did all of this in Safe Mode and logged in as an Administrator before carrying out these instructions.
