OCZ SLI-Ready PC6400-DDR2 Ram Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit (sp2) on 74gb Raptor HD in SATA slot 0 Additional 1.5 TB Seagate HD installed in SATA slot 1 - containing Drives D:, F:, G:, whereas Drive D is my programs drive, all progs are https://kb.vmware.com/kb/2006942 installed to that drive (approx 200gb allocated), F: is for multimedia storage (mp3s, videos, etc.) (approx 300gb allocated) and G: is heavy storage (approx 800 gb allocated) and is the drive that I had listed as "Storage Vault" and now shows up as "local drive". EVGA GeForce GTX 280 Graphics Card in PCI-E slot 1 (takes two spaces) Hauppauge Dual Tuner Card installed in PCI slot 2 BFG GeForce 8800GT Graphics Card installed in PCI-E slot 3 (one space) Creative Soundblaster Audigy2 Platinum card installed https://forums.techguy.org/threads/partition-gets-i-o-error.860195/ in PCI slot 3 HP CD/DVD Burner installed in SATA slot 3 Merc Stealth USB Keyboard and Razer Lachesis USB Mouse All mounted in a Coolermaster Stacker 830 Case, cooled with 8 120mm fans, four in the side, 1 up top, one in back, and two in front (in front of the drive bays). The cpu is cooled with a thermaltake fan, not stock fan. I use System Mechanic Professional for TuneUp/PC Maintenance, AVAST AntiVirus, Spyware Blaster, and Spybot S&D 1.6 with Teatimer Active. I use Three Monitors on my computer, one Monitor on the GTX 280, and two on the 8800GT as I multi-app a lot. This system has NEVER been overclocked in any fashion, despite my initial research that the E6850 chip could be OC'd to almost 4Ghz with the stock cooler with no problems - I'm just a major Noob when it comes to overclocking and so I never sussed with it. The problem is that Drive G: just began showing up as "Local Drive G:" and every attempt to access it results in an "I/0 Device Error". Drive G: as mentioned above is a partition on the 1.5 TB Seagate HD. When I run drive utilities through System Mech Pro, Drive G is not even an option, and when I ran MaxBlast, I get an I/O Device Error and can't get the program to initialize in the Windows Environment. (it just freezes out and after 15 minutes, I kill the process in the Task Manager, but it leaves an

Anyways, now it’s done, and I need to put it into my new scsi reservation conflict NAS (Synology 413j), but that’s not going very good. The disk is recognized in BIOS, and I get it up as /dev/sdc when I run gparted live on USB. But it is not shown in Windows device manager or in Ubuntu. When I run sudo gparted on a live Ubuntu USB, I get Input/output error during read on /dev/sdc. I have tried more stuff in gparted live, but to sum it up, it is very similar to what's happening here: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1492414.html Up to the part where he runs badsectors, and get alot of errors, I ran badsectors -vs (I guess that is just read, and show output. I ran it for about 3000sectors, and for each block it counted the output was: (and so on) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 140.00% done, 0:01 elapsed. (31/0/0 errors) In gparted(live) the /dev/sdc disk shows, but its all unallocated, and it shows an input/output read error when it scans all disks. When I try to create a new partition, I get an error with no partition table. I go to device - create partition table, and select gpt, I get about 5-6 errors with input/output read and also write on /dev/sdc. When I enter gdisk on gparted(live) I get: Warning! Read error 5; strange behavior now likely
