or computers? Anthony Smith June 18, 2011 Facebook Twitter Pinterest Stumbleupon Whatsapp Email I have a 16 GB class 4 SD card that came with my DroidX smartphone. I was resetting the phone and in fear of my data on the card being lost, I pulled it. Not during boot, but the phone was on. Now the card is not noticed at all by any Android smartphones or computers. But my Blackberry Curve sees the card and says there's a problem and it can't read the card. Is there anything I can do to make this 16 GB card useable again? Video: SD Card Problems and Fixes FIX 1: I know that you probably already have checked the card's slide switch, but I just want to first present this for others with the same problem who may not be aware of this switch. Other options besides the slide switch are presented further in this article. Please check to make sure that you didn't accidentally place the tiny locking slide switch on the side of your SD card in the "locked" downward position. The correct "unlocked" position should be slid up toward the direction of the connectors. If you discover that the locking switch is actually missing or has broken off, proceed directly below to Fix #4a. If this problem is just happening after purchasing a brand new card, AND your camera is an older camera (about 2008 or older), I'm going to guess that you just bought a new 4GB or larger SDHC card. If the above is true, continue reading. If not true, skip to Fix 3. Although the SDHC card looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the fo

I have had my BC-536HP scanner for a few weeks and it had been running fine, but suddenly the scanner says there is an SD Card File Error and that I must use Sentinel to Clear User Data. Fine, and I have done that multiple times, but so far I cannot clear this error message and use the radio. I have tried the original 4GB micro SD card that came with the radio and have 2 new 8GB cards that were purchased after this problem occurred. I have tried formatting the cards, both in the radio itself, and using an external card reader. I have formatted using both the OS formatter and the "SD Formatter" programming software. When exploring the card with Windows I can see all the Uniden scanner files on the card, and Sentinel sees the card either in the scanner or in the external card reader. And despite the fact that the USB cable is working fine, I have tried multiple cables just as a test, with the same results. I guess my main question is what is supposed to be on the card for the scanner to recognize it? I have written the database and the firmware update to the card after clearing the user data, but am I missing a step or is there something that needs to be on the card that isn't and causing the radio not to read the card? Looking for ideas here before shipping the radio back to Uniden… - Chris __________________ Chris Parris Federal Wavelengths Columnist, The Spectrum Monitor Magazine, www.thespectrummonitor.com chrisparris@thefedfilescom http://mt-fedfiles.blogspot.com/ Sponsored links #2 (permalink) 04-04-2014, 12:07 PM gchapel Member Join Date: Mar 2014 Posts: 18 That is strange. If you formatted the card with SDFormatter4 and then used Sentinel to write the database to the card you should be good to go. Once you have formatted the card, have you tried disconnecting the radio from power for 5 minutes or so, placing the card back in the radio, and then plugging in the radio and powering on. What is the error message that you get? #3 (permalink) 04-04-2014, 12:26 PM ChrisP Member Premium Subscriber Join Date: May 2002
