The shutter button just turns green for a second, like It's going to take a picture, but then it doesn't. I was literally just taking pictures and screenshots yesterday, so It's weird that it just started out of nowhere. I have over 2 GB left on my sd card, so space should not be an issue, especially since I've deleted all of those pictures and videos off of my ph

Obviously, this is a microSD card issue but the word "blank" could mean a couple of things; either corrupted (unreadable) or damaged. Just because the error says it's "blank" doesn't mean it's blank or doesn't contain any file. Remember that blank SD card can still be read and opened by the phone without any errors. This here is obviously an error and when it pops up, it automatically means something is wrong. There were also those who think the card is simply undetectable. Well, that's not the case either because if that's the case, the phone won't return an error simply because it hasn't detected anything that's plugged into its microSD card slot. I have had my 8 GB SD Card for three years...needless to say, it has like 5000 pictures and hundreds of videos on it. It has a lot of music on it too, but I'm not worried about that. I just want my pictures back more than anything. I got a message on my phone that told me I should safely unmount my SD card before removing it. Since I haven't taken it out for months, I didn't think anything of it. A few hours later, it said "SD Card damaged. You may have to reformat it." When I clicked on that, it said "Are you sure you want to format the Sd card? All data on your card will be lost." I have tried plugging it into the computer, but there's not an option to view files. I tried putting it in my dad's phone, and his phone didn't even recognize that it was even in there. If anyone has ANY ideas, whatsoever, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!! external-sd data-recovery share|improve this question edited Apr 4 '13 at 12:07 Izzy♦ 63.1k30158450 asked Mar 28 '12 at 20:50 Hannah 26112 I assume you canceled the format.
