At that point I would strongly suggest you copy off all the files from the SD card to your computer. After that reformat the SD card, using either the official utility at https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ , or by putting it back into your phone and having it reformat it. (I strongly suggest the first option!) If you encounter problems with any of this, chances are your card has been damaged beyond repair, perhaps by the fl

isn't an isolated case and some people have experienced this with their devices but have found solutions. The problem is I have tried unmounting/mounting the card, error-checking on PC, and even resetting the http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/98951/how-repair-sd-card-locked-read-only-mode-its-probably-file-system-error phone back to factory settings, but nothing seems to work in my case(even the files are still intact, as if they're immortal:saint. I'm not a "techie" person so hopefully there's a simple solution to this. Best Answer Do this: insert the sd on your phone..go to settings...unmount it..format it..repeat this process about three times..then get it off of your phone..put it in your computer..then in your http://androidforums.com/threads/sd-card-in-read-only-format.747684/ computer go to "computer" right click on the sd card..select the "format"..now you should be able to format your sd card..let me know. How long have you had the SD? It could have worn out, this does happen. Can you re-format it on your PC? Backup the contents first before you try. If it can't be formatted, replace it. Removable storage media does have a finite life, can only be written to a certain number of times. It might have gone read only to protect the contents. alcarrot and IOWA like this. Download Folder to the External SD Card, BeyondPod can no longer use it. While 3rd party applications are generally not allowed to write to the External SD card on KitKat, they are still http://beyondpod.mobi/android/help/FAQKitKatSDReadOnly.htm allowed to write to a special, "application specific", folder on the External SD card. Using this "application specific" folder, it is possible to still use the external SD card for downloading and storing episodes. The only caveat is that if you uninstall BeyondPod, everything that is stored in the "application specific" folder (feeds, settings and downloaded episodes) WILL BE DELETED. We recommend to permanently use the Internal SD card as your download location as it sd card is universally supported across all versions of Android and various devices. Also any downloaded episodes will remain if you decide to temporary un-install BeyondPod. If you still want to use the external SD card (or are currently using it and want to move back to the Internal SD card): Make sure you are using BeyondPod 3.3.68 (phone) / 3.30.68 (tablet) or later. To check the version you are using go to: Menu > More > sd card read About BeyondPod. If you have an earlier version, you can get the latest versions from our PHONE or TABLET beta page. Once you are using the correct BeyondPod version, Go to: Menu > More > Settings > General Settings > Podcast Download Folder to change Podcast Download location. During the transfer process, BeyondPod will analyze your environment and if it detects that your External SD card is as Read Only, will give you an option to switch to either the Internal SD card or to the appropriate "application specific" folder on the External SD card: If you select "Internal SD Card" BeyondPod will copy all your episodes to [Internal SD Card]/BeyondPod folder and switch to use it. If you select "External SD Card" it will copy the episodes to the "application specific" folder on the external SD card [External SD Card]/Android/Data/mobi.beyondpod(.hd)/files/BeyondPod and switch to use it. In both cases because the old download folder ([External SD Card]/BeyondPod) has become Read Only, BeyondPod will not be able to delete it so you have to do that manually - just attach the device to a computer and delete it using Windows Explorer or Finder. Again keep in mind that if you decide to use the EXTERNAL SD card, everything WILL BE DELETED if you uninstall BeyondPod. Updates to new versions are still OK, files are
