Recently we have enabled nscd and every few days it crashes. When I try checking the status is says "dead but subsys locked".In my messages I see the following error:Mar 25 17:01:53 hldb01 kernel: nscd[28998]: segfault at 0000000000000098 rip 00002aaaaf90434e rsp 00000000401fe5e0 error 4Mar 25 17:01:54 hldb01 kernel: crond[29358]: segfault at 0000000000000098 rip 00002aaab30a834e rsp 00007fffbfd9bb40 error 4Mar 25 17:01:55 hldb01 kernel: crond[29783]: segfault at 0000000000000098 rip 00002aaab30a834e rsp 00007fffbfd9baf0 error 4Any help would be appreciated. I will certainly run memtest to see if it helps but usually the Dell OpenManage is pretty good at picking up when there is a fault in the memory. Also the kernel 2.6.18-53.1.6.el5 is the latest. Unless the repository that I'm pulling from has an issue, there are no newer kernels available. Top AlanBartlett Forum Moderator Posts: 9296 Joined: 20
