This patch is a hack serial port error arduino to work around the problem with these adapters at the cost of disabling the 9600 baud 5.N,1 configuration. program on my winzoz seven 64 bit...(in win xp 32 bit work perfectly) I have a usb to serial port converter to communicate from PC to a machine tool with CNC.. The 16-bit program works perfectly in dosbox 0.74, but the serial port NO! I set from the configuration file: serial1=directserial realport:COM2 serial2=disabled serial3=disabled serial4=disabled But when I start dosbox appears: Serial1: Opening COM2 Serial1: Desired serial mode not supported (9600,5,n,1) Exactly this problem! How do I install this patch? in dosbox 0.74... Where do I put the file "dosbox_ignore_5N1.patch"? Thanks in advance to all... Get MinGW http://www.mingw.org/ if you do not have it. 2) Download the source of DosBox. 3) Extract the source from the archive 4) Apply the patch with the command: patch -p0 < patchname.diff 5) Build the software with the commands: ./configure make Regards, Adam On Thu, Oct 25, 2012 at 10:14 AM, guly gguly@users.sf.net wrote: First, compliments for the beautiful project...I am an Italian boy I speak a little English (sorry ahead for my English) I have the need to run a 16-bit program on my winzoz seven 6

If not ignore it. If COM1 and 2 are ports on the mainboard (not USB or something) its most likely an issue with the connected device. Could be wrong baud rate too. Might help if you elaborate what you need two ports for. 1+1=10 h-a-l-9000 DOSBox Author Posts: 4441Joined: 2005-2-23 @ 00:14 Website Top Re: Serial port error !! by tonychen35 » 2007-4-17 @ 15:55 Hi !! No need to download from my homepage. I'm afraid DOSBox can't provide the precise timing needed to emulate the car protocol. Or maybe try with rxdelay:0. 1+1=10 h-a-l-9000 DOSBox Author Posts: 4441Joined: 2005-2-23 @ 00:14 Website Top Re: Serial port error !! by tonychen35 » 2007-4-17 @ 18:18 Hal9000 !! thanks !! However it seems that DOSBOX is having problems communicating with COM1 where the Radio Interface Box (RIB) is connected. Now in Ubuntu I can communicate with /dev/ttyS0 just fine by using ls > /dev/ttyS0 and I can see the lights flashing on the Radio Interface Box that is connected to COM1 so Ubuntu is not the problem.. it sees the port and the box attached to it. When I start Dosbox I have the COM1 port configured with this command in the dosbox.conf file serial1=directserial comport=1 realport=ttyS0 Now i've also tried serial1=directserial comport=COM1 realport=/dev/ttyS0 and I just can't seem to get Dosbox to communicate with the Radio Interface Box connected to COM1 (/dev/ttyS0)... Need Help !!!! Anyone ???? And by the way, I tried
