I have uploaded my directory to the public_html folder and have created databases through cPanel for the two databases I previously had. I tried to test the site using the temporary URL I was given after registering but I received a 500 Internal Server Error page instead. Is it possible to test the site prior to making the DNS changes, and if so, is there any reason for why this error has occurred? I have checked the error logs but have not seen anything come up at all. Thanks! You must login before you can ask a follow up question. You must login before you can submit an answer. Getting 500 (Internal Server) Error [ Edited ] Hello, Recently I have been informed that IP of the server will be change to new one. So it has been changed and DNS are pointed to correct IP but still I'm getting 500 (Internal Server) Error. Site was made using site builder. It's not showing any other error and from back end it shows everything is fine. Since nothing is working I installed WP on windows hosting and it says there is an error but no detail at all. And it's not giving admin panel for WP. What could be the general problem in here ? It can be frustrating when you try to log into or view your website, and the http 500 internal server error displays in your browser. This is a very common error with Apache servers hosting Wordpress and Joomla websites. Unfortunately, the solution to this error is not always the same, and neither is the problem. What causes the 500 internal server error? The 500 internal server error is a catch all phrase that means the url you requested could not be accessed. The error is not in the CMS theme code, but on the server itself. This can happen when you install a new plug in, for instance, and it corrupts the .htaccess file. Another example would be if you upgrade to a new version of your CMS, and your installation references an older version of PHP, whereas the newest version may be needed. There are many possible explanations, but what they all have in common is that they are all errors within the CMS installation’s code on the server. To really begin to figure out what went wrong, a web administrator must check the error logs on the Apache server. The user friendly version of the error message displayed in the browser does not give any information about the error other than the fact that it cannot connect to the requested url.
