Exchange 2007 SP1 rollup 4, the Microsoft Exchange Service Host service and the Microsoft Exchange File Distribution service may fail to start. The cause of these error events is the lack of internet access. It seems that both services try to download service control manager a revoked certificate list from http://crl.microsoft.com, and time out if they don't have access to this. There are a couple of options to solve this problem: If you have a proxy server, you may have to set the correct proxy settings. Use ProxyCfg.exe to set the ip address and port. If you have a firewall, Internet traffic may be blocked by it. In that case, open HTTP traffic from the server to the internet If you have installed .NET Framework 2.0 only, you may need a hotfix for .NET Framework 2. Microsoft has a KB article which desribes the same problem, and from where you can request a hotfix: Exchange 2007 managed code services do not start after you install an update rollup for Exchange 2007 Because there's generally no real security issue, I would recommend trying step 1 and 2 first, before installing the hotfix. It is becoming more frequent and certainly more frustrating! When I boot my computer each morning (I shut it down at night) it will crash and reboot within 10 min. It will do this again 4 or 5 times over the next 45 min. to 1 hr., with an increasing time between crashes, until it stabilizes and remains running for up to three hours or so at a time - then crashes again and reboots again. When reviewing the Event Log (System Log) the same sequence of events is ALWAYS recorded, in the following order from the most recent to the oldest: Source: Service Control Manager Time: 11:10:02 Category: None Type: Error Event ID: 7009 User: N/A Description: Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Netlogon service to connect. Source: Event Log Time: 11:09:08 Category: None Type: Information Event ID: 6005 User: N/A Description: The Event log service was started. Source: Event Log Time: 11:09:08 Category: None Type: Information Event ID: 6009 User: N/A Description: Microsoft (R) Windows 2000 (R) 5.0 2195 Service Pack 4 Uniprocessor Free Please note that the Error that causes the crash and reboot (as first listed above) always and repeatedly follows the preceding events by 54-55 sec. I have already updated my network adapter driver, checked for viruses (I use AVG) and I have reloaded SP4. Any help that can be offered will be greatly appreciated! mrgregl, #1 2006/10/04 Arie Administrator Administrator Staff Joined: 2001/12/27 Messages: 14,744 Likes Received: 374 Trophy Points: 1,093 Follow these instructions to post a Dump Data Log.
