Are other memory intensive processes running while reindexing? Have you tried reindexing individual tables to see if the same error occurs? (I'm assuming this is from a job to re-index everything) Thursday, December 29, 2011 6:08 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Thanks George and mitchpe, I am using SQL Server 2000 +SP4SNIVAS Thursday, December 29, 2011 6:12 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Once again thanks all help, Link work for me... :)SNIVAS Thursday, December 29, 2011 6:18 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Since you already have SP4 with 2000, you should have the hotfix that addressed one manifestation of this error. My next questions would be: Did this just start recently? What changed on your system just prior? You might look into AWE, depending upon your OS a

Luis Martin, Sep 29, 2009 #3 sramesh New Member Please find memory setting for SQL 2000 enterprise edition. max server memory (MB) 4 2147483647 6144 6144 min memory per query (KB) 512 2147483647 1024 1024 min server memory (MB) 0 2147483647 0 0 sramesh, Sep 29, 2009 #4 Luis http://www.sql-server-performance.com/forum/threads/insufficient-memory-available-in-sql-2000.30959/ Martin Moderator Well that is the problem. SQL only can reach 2gb of main memory. So you have to work with /3gb to get more memory because with 32 bits sql can reach up to 4GB. My recommendation is to move OS and SQL to 64 bits. Luis Martin, Sep 29, 2009 #5 sramesh New Member one month before i haved added /3GB and immediately we have found disconnection issues in application. Also we have faced perfomrnace issues in windows. We cant open task bar...... it is hung state.... what is -g in startup parameter? it will resolve issues? sramesh, Sep 30, 2009 #6 moh_hassan20 New Member if you faced such errors: "Failed Virtual Allocate Bytes: FAIL_VIRTUAL_RESERVE

Apparently he server was starved for memory. Fortunately it was a DEV server so no production down time. I am working on getting our monitoring software updated. Once that is done I will be able to fire off alerts based on memory conditions. Should be good times. | Tagged memory, monitoring, performance | Leave a comment AWE Shucks Posted on December 21, 20
