Using ApproveIt Occasionally Hangs The Viewer 3 replies Latest Post - 2008-11-14T14:27:36Z by SystemAdmin Display:ConversationsBy Date 1-4 of 4 Previous Next SystemAdmin 110000D4XK 1860 Posts Pinned topic Signing PureEdge Form https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=207168 Using ApproveIt Occasionally Hangs The Viewer 2008-05-28T18:56:58Z | Tags: Answered question This question has been answered. Unanswered question This question has not been answered yet. I experience an infrequent problem (very infrequent, but it happens enough to be annoying) when attempting to sign a PureEdge form in an ApproveIt signature block. To start with, here are the software versions smart card in use: - ApproveIt Desktop 5.7.1 - PureEdge Viewer & PureEdge Designer 6.5 (yes, it is PureEdge...from before the IBM acquisition of PureEdge) - Input device for the signature is Wintab Compliant Tablet Here is the order of events when the problem occurs: 1. Display a form with one or more ApproveIt signature buttons on it 2. Click on one the smart card of the ApproveIt signature buttons (the button says 'Click to Approve') 3. A pop-up is displayed titled "Digital Signature Viewer" 4. Click the 'Sign' button At this point the viewer will hang. Takes 2-3 minutes before the viewer displays the next screen (which is the ApproveIt - Signature Capture pop-up). However, even when the capture pop-up is displayed, I can't perform a signature. Pop-up won't accept anything. So, I close the window (by clicking on the X in the upper right-hand corner of the screen). I then get the error message of "The signature could not be created because the private key of the certificate could not be accessed". Has anybody ever seen this before? Might this be a Viewer issue? Or perhaps an ApproveIt issue? At this point, I am totally at a loss since the problem occurs very infrequently and very randomly. It does not occur on the same form or the same signature or the same pc...it just happens now and then with no apparent pattern. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Th
