Hp Smart Web Printing For Google Chrome
from LH Topic Viewed 10550 times amkeew Posts: 661 This post has been reported. I downloaded IE remove smart web printing pop up 8 about a few days back. After installation, during first start up, IE 8 asked for the an add-on, HP smart web printing, which I downloaded and installed. Due to some http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/HP-Connected-Mobile-Printing-and-Cloud-Printing/How-to-cancel-HP-SMART-WEB-PRINTING/td-p/196944 other issues, I restored my computer (XP Pro) to an earlier date. This naturally screwed up both IE 8 and this HP smart web printing add-on. So, I reinstalled IE 8 and got it working. The HP add on would not reinstall asking for some msi file. Now every time I open a folder on the desk top (even recycle bin), I get http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/hp-smart-web-printing-add-on-error a small windows installer window asking "Insert SmartWebPrintingOC disk and click OK". I don't' have this damn disc since the original program was downloaded form the web. After I click cancel three times, this window goes away and the folder opens. And this happens with every folder I open from the desktop. Now I have uninstalled all the HP printers from my computer. And yet, this annoying message keeps appearing. I tried to delete HP folder in C:/Program Files but it wouldn't delete saying some file is in use. How do I get rid of this smart web printing prompt ? Thanks. Reports: · Posted 7 years ago Top amkeew Posts: 661 This post has been reported. Solved - I uninstalled the HP smart web printing using add/remove programs and the prompt window is gone. Myke46 August 26, 2010 Facebook Twitter Pinterest Stumbleupon Whatsapp Email smart web printing My wife's Dell desktop (Windows XP Professional SP3) now automatically tries to find HP Smart Web Print any time you try to access anything from the start menu. For example: click My Documents, My Pictures or anything else, and you get the search for a now non-existent Smart Web Print. If you keep hitting "cancel" on the search window, it eventually goes away and the originally desired item pops up . Tek4835 September 1, 2010 at 3:53 pm You can go into MSCONFIG & see if anything HP-related is loaded at boot. First, goto the GEN tab & make sure SELECTIVE STARTUP is checked, then goto the STARTUP tab. Uncheck what's not wanted, then reboot. Isaac Girard September 1, 2010 at 2:13 pm If reinstalling doesn't work, try using MSFT's MSI Cleanup Utility to remove HP Smart Web Print. MSFT has pulled it from their website, because it's extremely efficient at removing installation data from the registry, but can cause huge problems if used incorrectly. Some Google searching, and cautious downloading should lead you to it. MSICUU2.exe is what you're looking for. Josh Fox August 29
