and thus gives you the error), the world naturally loads, you are able to explore around but you are unable to chat or build. After 10 seconds you get kicked and the error pops up. Some people like myself could barely play fine during night times but during the day, multiplayer was unplayable. Sometimes, when you travel very fast either by cart or by flying (chunks are loaded faster) java.net.socketexception connection reset in java you inevitably get kicked out with the exception. How is it caused? Your internet connection may have a high ping or your internet connection is damaged (faulty wires). This causes packet loss and unfortunately Minecraft is highly sensitive to it. You might think that your internet connection is super fast which obviously describes that Minecraft multiplayer should run fine. Well yes. Minecraft only needs about 50kbps to send chunk information and player data, however even if you have a 100Gbps connection, online performance is usually dependent on the ping. The speed in which data travels from one place to the other. Anti-viruses, firewalls and other applications which slow down your internet can be involved. Another cause can be entirely software related. Updating java to the latest version proved to be the number one effective solution for most users. There's a how-to-guide below. Back in Minecraft version 1.3, people have been spamming the internet with this mysterious error. The main cause was related to the Minecraft client not being compatible with the multiplayer servers. Users couldn't get in because the server version was still out of date. So the solution was to downgrade the client. Mojang have also pointed this issue on their website but

Page 1 of 4 1 2 3 4 Next > NightmareInf Okay, so I had just setup my minecraft server with 1.8.3 and I try to connect, Minecraft is fine up until I connect to the server, Java crashes and gives me a "Java Platform(SE) Binary has stopped working." And the server says this. Code (Text): 21.03 23:30:03 [Disconnect] User [23:30:03 INFO]: mricky has disconnected, reason: Internal Exception: java.io.IOException: Error while read(...): Connection reset by peer For unknown reason, someone in my house on the same exact network as me can connect and play just fine. I have no idea if its the server or my game, I have tried 3 different minecraft launchers including the official one, It would sometimes throw the error code 255 but I deleted my .minecraft to fix it. I have been trying for over 3 hours now. Any help at all is appreciated. Edit: Tested on other minecraft servers, All of them crash when i join. Edit 2: For me it was fixed by changing my vbos settings. #1 NightmareInf, Mar 22, 2015 Last e

If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question. 1 The most obvious answer is a network problem. If it's a server you know is running and accepting connections, I'd check that you're not behind a firewall that is preventing connections (i.e. a school/university network). –TZHX Oct 26 '13 at 22:05 This error message has been showing up for many people who updated to 1.7.2. It's not entirely due to non-updated servers, though, it seems to be an internal error. My fiance and I played on our server all morning this morning, and upon attempting to log in right now it reads that error and refuses to connect him to our server, though it is running 1.7.2. –user58310 Oct 27 '13 at 10:01 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote You are running Minecraft 1.7.2 and the server you're connecting to is not. Not only is connecting to a server with a mismatched client currently impossible, but the 1.7.2 update brought with it some minor networking protocol changes, resulting in some new and "interesting" (read as "not very informative") error messages, like the one you got. You can continue playing on that server by either waiting for them to update to 1.7.2, or by setting up a 1.6.4† profile in your Minecraft Launcher: Open the l
