However to save you the bother of ringing up Sony, we've got the solution for you, however, it's not a pretty one, you'll need to restore the TV to it's factory settings, which WILL loose all of the settings you have applied to the TV. So here's how: On your TV's XMB (Home Menu), navigate to SETTINGS > PRODUCT SUPPORT > SYSTEM INFORMATION http://www.sonyfanatic.com/2011/03/bravia-internet-tv-error-5006-fix/ to find out your model number, Download and install the latest version here, you'll need to navigate to your model, and follow the instructions to download and install the latest update. Test the firmware to see if it's still giving you a 5006 error when you try to refresh the internet content. If you're still getting the error navigate to SETTINGS > SYSTEM SETTINGS > GENERAL SET-UP > FACTORY SETTINGS. Remember this will wipe all your custom settings. The TV will then preform a reboot. Follow the settings to re-set-up your TV, configuring the internet settings and finally refreshing the internet content. So there you go, you should now be able to refresh your internet content without that 5006 error. error. pvssyd with Sony Support, they said go reboot the router and try again - directed me to their 5006 error page. No dice. I have another wireless router, took out the original and fired up the other wireless router and configured it. Same 5006 error. Ran a cable to the Bravia TV from the router and tried wired setup - versus wireless. Same error message. When setting up the network, I go in and configure the machine through the Bravia network setup and it comes back connected OK to network, internet, etc. Then I try to refresh the internet content so I can listen to Pandora, watch Netflix, etc. Get the 5006 error constantly.I've got a bunch of Macs, Windows 7/Vista machines, Tivo, and HP Printers connected to the same networks via WIFI and wired - no problems.Any insight would be appreciated. Otherwise, I think I'm gonna box this unit up and ship it back to Dell. Thanks - Mitch BaNK.RoLL Posts: 518Joined: Sun Nov 18, 2007 9:55 am » Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:11 am By the way, here's the TV:EX40B 32-inch KDL32EX40B Batricia Alele Posts: 559Joined: Mon Jan 22, 2007 2:12 am » Sun Jan 23, 2011 6:01 pm Alright, gave up and called Tech Support at Sony. They confirmed I had done everything and then finally had me hard boot the TV to restore it to its original state. Holding the up arrow on remote and pressing the power button on the side of the TV. That seems to have worked and we're getting content on the TV again.
