spool service not running. Unable to perform operation. Also when I go through "XP Service" and enable (start) print spool nothing happens. I have tried deleting the files in the registry key like Microsoft Knowledge base has said to. I hope you can help me.I have a very stubborn problem going on for weeks now.Trust me I've been in many many forums and in Microsoft Knowledge Base and read about many solutions but nothing seems to work. I have done also a windows repair installation to no avail either.The spooler won't start giving me error 1058.However, this is what seems to differ from similar posts for what I can tell or at least I haven't encountered any post mentioning it:In Services, if I double click the print spooler service to access the properties, it gives me another error before opening the properties box and it says:Configuration Manager: "The specified device ID is not a valid device ID" Then the properties box opens ok.
