Used Adobe Pro to make PDFs which I believe uses print spooler to do so2. Then made the HUGE mistake of installing an old (circa 2003??) Dell A920 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier3. After Dell installed, it seemed to take over the system:a) Adobe Pro would no longer make PDFs/print, HP DeskJet was "missing/could not find printer"b) Tried to uninstall and reinstall Adobe and HP DeskJet using add/remove programs - it would not let me - said Error 1920 Service Print Spooler (Spooler) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. This is baloney as I AM the admin for the computer4. Finally found a patch/app on the Dell site that (supposedly) uninstalled (fully?) the Dell A

Solved Data execution prevention - Spooler SubSystem App Posted on 2006-12-13 Windows Server 2003 1 Verified Solution 9 Comments 6,471 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-05 Our company runs SBS 2003 as a domain controller with a few network printers using the server for spooling. The installation of the printers is completely conventional. Recently, the print spooler has been crashing, sometimes returning the message in the header. After much trial and error, it appears that printing from Excel from a particular computer will *always* crash the spooler. Nothing else seems to, although I couldn't say that with complete certainty. I've tried stopping the spooler, deleting all the spooled files, and restarting the spooler. I can only print from the problem workstation after booting it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 0 Question by:mdcollier Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 51 Active 1 day ago Best Solution byNetman66 This article explains it much better than I can: http://www.steves-digicams.com/techcorner/august_2006.html Go to Solution 9 Comments LVL 51 Overall: Level 51 Windows Server 2003 42 Message Active 1 day ago Expert Comment by:Netman662006-12-13 Try updating the driver for the printer that causes the crash (on the server). Do not use local drivers when mapping network printers via the queue on the server. The right method is to surf to the print server (\\servername), find the printer, right-click it and select Connect. This will push the drivers that are on the server to the client. This eliminates version differences between client and server. 0 LVL 38 Overall: Level 38 Windows Server 2003 19 Message Active 6 days ago Expert Comment by:Hypercat (Deb)2006-12-13 I would try Netman66's suggestion first - update the drivers for that printer on the server and see if that resolves the problem. An alternative approach if this doesn't solve the problem would be to install the printer locally on that one workstation and have it print directly to the printer instead of spooling through the server. All you need to do is add a local TCP/I
