Microsoft Spooler Fix It
Printing Question 28 Sign in to vote Hi All, I had "spooler subsystem spoolsv.exe download app stopped working..." and found solution that may help you to fix your case. I don't know some usermode font driver host how vista turn off LDP port after installing new printer driver and leaves only Internet client port only. That why the printer spooler service failed to start. Solution is: 1. Go to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-hardware/spooler-subsystem-app-error/44cce566-bcbc-46e6-bc20-a2f34ffca199 Programs and Features in Control panel > click Turn Windows features on or off 2. click + sign of Print services 3. Select LPD and LPR. You should remove Internet Printing Client. > restart your PC to ensure there is no error of spooler service. 4. Add your printer driver again. It worked for me. Let try. a problem and needs to close." I encountered the error when trying to install an HP Laserjet 1015 printer on a customer's computer. The HP http://www.pchell.com/support/spoolersubsystem.shtml installation CD would install to the point of plugging in the USB cable for the printer into the computer and then invariably the message shown above would pop onto the screen. When I would click OK, the printer installer would proceed to uninstall everything it just loaded and no printer would show up in the Printers Control Panel. Since this was the customer's only printer, spooler subsystem it needed to be installed no matter what. So I proceeded to try Microsoft's solution to the problem (shown below), however 3 hours later I still was no closer to installing the printer. I also tried running the System File Checker by following the instructions below: 1) Click on Start, Run 2) Type in the following command and press Enter SFC /SCANNOW 3) The System spooler subsystem app File Checker will run and check your system for missing or corrupted files, if it finds a corrupted file, it will ask for your Windows CD-ROM to install a new copy of the file to your hard drive. Unfortunately, it my case, this didnt solve the problem either. The key to the whole problem was the fact the customer had just upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP. The printer worked fine under Windows 98, but would not install under Windows XP. Simple Solution for HP Laserjet 1010/1012/1015 printer Ultimately, because the system was recently upgraded to Windows XP, the problem was older HP .dll files still on the system causing the spooler problem. 1) Open My Computer, Tools, Folder Options, View and click on the option for Show hidden files and folders 2) Now, uncheck the option for "hide extensions for known file types" and click OK 3) Click on Start, Search and in the left column choose All Files and Folders 4) In the "all or part of the filename" box type the following hpzimn12.dll 5) Make sure the "look in" box has Drive C selected (or whichever drive windows is inst
