SQLSTATE (ODBC Error Codes) SQL Server 2016 Other Versions SQL Server 2014 SQL Server 2012 Warning SQL Server Native Client (SNAC) is not supported beyond SQL Server 2012. Avoid using SNAC in new development work, and plan to modify applications sql error 4200 that currently use it. The Microsoft ODBC Driver for SQL Server provides native connectivity from Windows to Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure SQL Database. SQLSTATE provides detailed information about the cause of a warning or error. For errors that occur in the data source detected and returned by SQL Server, the SQL Server Native Client ODBC driver maps the returned native error number to the appropriate SQLSTATE. If a native error number does not have an ODBC error code to map to, the SQL Server Native Client ODBC driver returns SQLSTATE 42000 ("syntax error or access violation"). For errors that are detected by the driver, the SQL Server Native Client ODBC driver generates the appropriate SQLSTATE.For more information about the state error codes, see the following topics:Appendix A: ODBC Error CodesSQLSTATE MappingsSee AlsoHandling Errors and Messages Community Additions ADD Show: Inherited Protected Print Export (0) Print Export (0) Share IN THIS ARTICLE Is this page helpful?
