One should always use the most precise rule, here specifying the client IP address as a host or its NAT public IP, or a rule matching his DHCP subnet ('192.168.1.%" for example) –mveroone May 3 at 7:59 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a g

Error 1130 is a networking error. The server cannot resolve the hostname of the client. Or the host is not allowed to connect to the MySQL server. There are basically 2 categories of possible reasons: * The simple one: In MySQL a user a user is specified using BOTH the user name and the host from where the user may connect. If no user has been created where the host-part (using wildcards or not) mathces the host of the client trying to connect MySQL will return this error. * Specific for MySQL 5.7: When upgrading to MySQL 5.7.3 from a previous version this may occur due to changes to the user table introduced in 5.7.3. There is a good blog about this here http://www.chriscalender.com/?p=1392 * The tricky ones: 1) Your hosts file is damaged or invalid. Various vira and spyware attack and alter the host file in various ways. For instance if the hosts file does not contain the line 127.0.0.1 localhost 'localhost' cant' be resolved as pointing to ip 127.0.0.1. On some large

I keep getting the following error: MySQL Error Number 1130 #HY000Host '192.168.0.5' is not allowed to this MySQL server Ping works fine. I keep getting the following error: MySQL Error Number 1130 #HY000Host '192.168.0.5' is not allowed to this MySQL server The first thing I would try is to grant access to the given user from that client IP address: # mysql -u root mysql mysql> grant all on test.* to 'username'@'192.168.0.3'; See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/adding-users.html for more information. I don't know of any "allow list" mechanism in MySQL, except for the one with which you can restrict client access to a single IP address (the "--bind-address=

If there is some other way..then I would definitely appreciate your help in this …… 29 Mar, 2010 08:52 AM victoria Administrator 134 post(s) Hi, For security reasons, we configure MySQL users with access only from your local machine. If you want to access from outside, you will need to give access to your user fisrt. You will need to use the mysql client tool and exute the following: GRANT ALL ON * TO 'someuser'@'somehost'; Flush privileges; where somehost could be a specific IP or % for accessing from any IP. 29 Mar, 2010 10:38 AM nikhil09bhise 4 post(s) OK.. i`ll try it out & will let u know about it… Thank you for providing this solution…… Forums → KnowledgeTree → Voices nikhil09bhise victoria We wantto hear from you!
