Try this from where you run the app, from a command line (with run as administrator) 1st: ping SQL-SRV If you see TTL Expired msg, is a network problem call a lan admin 2nd: telnet SQL-SRV 1433 your command line window will cleared if success and if fail, see a msg "connectin..." check the sql server is running and the firewall config. share|improve this answer answered Dec 18 '13 at 14:03 Frank N Stein 334212 telnet SQL-SRV 1433 failed what can i do –user2681731 Dec 18 '13 at 18:31 the firewall is disabled –user2681731 Dec 18 '13 at 18:34 The ODBC works? it can be a provider problem check the connection sting (sqlcli10, the last with 2k compativility) connectionstrings.com/sql-server-2000 –Frank N Stein Dec 18 '13 at 18:40 i just update the sql to sql 2000 sp4 it works –user2681731 Dec 18 '13 at 22:21 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign
