I've got web reports built on Crystal XI and they work absolutely fine on my Windows XP machine. I now transfer the web application to my Windows 2003 Enterprise Production Server and the web application is still running fine except all my reports keep giving the following error: Failed to open the connection. Details: http://forums.asp.net/t/997655.aspx?Crystal+Failed+to+open+Connection [Database Vendor Code: 17 ] Failed to open the connection. C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\{ADB8090C-40ED-499D-88E3-915E23B0C5C3}.rpt Details: [Database Vendor Code: 17 ] I have the latest service packs for crystal & windows. The Business Objects website doesn't talk about this error. Thanks, Irfan. Reply netfreak9 None 0 Points 23 Posts Re: Crystal: Failed to open Connection Jun 10, 2006 12:47 AM|netfreak9|LINK Hi jportelas, I am using SQL Server 2000 and when I run the reports in Crystal, they run fine. I am unable to understand what is the cause of this problem. Please help. Thanks, Irfan. Reply netfreak9 None 0 Points 23 Posts Re: Crystal: Failed to open Connection Jul 12, 2006 11:01 AM|netfreak9|LINK I resolved the issue finally. Something which is pretty wierd. Do the following steps: 1. Open the report in the CR XI designer. 2. Select Database -> Set Datasource Location. 3.
to improve application and system performance. This chapter includes the following sections: Increasing Performance with https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1213/wls/JDBCA/ds_tuning.htm the Statement Cache Connection Testing Options for a Data Source Enabling Connection Creation Retries Enabling Connection Requests to Wait for a Connection Automatically Recovering Leaked Connections Avoiding Server Lockup with the Correct Number of Connections Limiting Statement Processing Time with Statement Timeout Using Pinned-To-Thread Property to Increase Performance Using Unwrapped Data Type sql server Objects Tuning Maintenance Timers Increasing Performance with the Statement Cache When you use a prepared statement or callable statement in an application or EJB, there is considerable processing overhead for the communication between the application server and the database server and on the database server itself. To minimize the processing costs, WebLogic Server sql server error can cache prepared and callable statements used in your applications. When an application or EJB calls any of the statements stored in the cache, WebLogic Server reuses the statement stored in the cache. Reusing prepared and callable statements reduces CPU usage on the database server, improving performance for the current statement and leaving CPU cycles for other tasks. Each connection in a data source has its own individual cache of prepared and callable statements used on the connection. However, you configure statement cache options per data source. That is, the statement cache for each connection in a data source uses the statement cache options specified for the data source, but each connection caches it's own statements. Statement cache configuration options include: Statement Cache Type—The algorithm that determines which statements to store in the statement cache. See Statement Cache Algorithms. Statement Cache Size—The number of statements to store in the cache for each connection. The de
