Sharepoint Database Full Error On Sql Server Instance
to the SharePoint forum but they sugested I ask you guys. I have a Sharepoint Foundation 2010 site that ran could not allocate space for object because the 'primary' filegroup is full out of space (3.85 GB). I deleted some files and performed an inplace upgrade from SQL 2008 Express to SQL 2008 R2 Express. I thought all was good as I used "SharePoint Space

But I am now getting errors 1827CREATE DATABASE or ALTER DATABASE failed because the resulting cumulative database size would exceed your licensed limit of 4096 MB per database. and 3758 Database full error on SQL Server instance 'SPFOUNDATION\Sharepoint' in database 'WSS_Content'. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below. Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.AllDocStreams'.'AllDocStreams_CI' sql server shrink log file in database 'WSS_Content' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup. Any ideas as to what went wrong? Is there a Reg key that did not get updated? Regards, John Tuesday, May 03, 2011 6:48 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote So that was a bit more painful than it should of been.The end result was, The first attempt to upgrade, upgraded all the tools but not the database engine. Maybe because of the [SiteOrphan] Database or it caused the Orphan who knows. The answer was to Detach and Attach the WSS_Control database, problem with that was the original location had more than 128 charters, so I added another drive and moved the database to it. (Virtualization is a wonderful thing for that.) I then ran the SQL2008R2 setup and selected the upgrade option. Verified the SQL engine is truly 10.50. As you can tell I am not a database guy so thanks everyone for the help and pointing me in the right direction. Internet s
