Might be totally unrelated, but might be worth checking... Do any of the properties of the SQL connection (the servername, username or password) contain non-standard characters? Are the computers set up to use the same characterset? Proposed as answer by Jens K. I've done this hundreds of times already, but suddenly it's givingme the following error:«Connection failed:SQLState: '01000'SQL Server Error: 1326[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen(Connect()).Connection http://microsoft.public.cmserver.general.narkive.com/PftVOLxF/odbc-sql-server-driver-invalid-connection-string-attribute-error-in-dca failed:SQLState: '080001'SQL Server Error: 17[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35405676/sql-server-odbc-connection-failed not existor access denied.Connection failed:SQLState: '01S00'SQL Server Error: 0[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid connection stringattribute»This happens when I click on the "Database:" drop-down, after I selectthe server and type the "Login ID:" and "Password:" (using sa).Already tried several things like:- installed SQL 2000 SP4- sql server repaired CMS2002 SP1a installation- used other protocols configuring the SQL Server Client NetworkUtilitySince every other form of connection to the SQL Server works fine(VS2003 Server explorer connects fine; Enterprise Manager; Queryanaliser; ODBC Data Source), it's just the DCA that can't connect, Idecided to post this in the CMServer group.Any pointers will be appreciated. Thanks odbc sql server in advance.Hugo Stefan [MSFT] 2006-09-28 11:30:03 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Hi Hugo, the error comes directly from the ODBC layer.Based on the error you received there is either a non existing SQL serverconfigured or the account used to access it gets an access denied. If you are using SQL authentication please check the SQL account. Otherwiseensure that the user running the DCA has DBO access to the database.Beside that you might want to check this article if you are running WindowsXP or 2003:http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/2/5/4250f79a-c3a1-4003-9272-2404e92bb76a/MCMS+2002+-+(complete)+FAQ.htm#A478BCE7-8508-463D-8168-0DA3B5ABA388If this does not help please follow up on a ODBC/SQL related newsgroup.Cheers,Stefan--This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights<***@gmail.com> wrote in message news:***@i3g2000cwc.googlegroups.com...Hi.I'm trying to redirect my CMS2002 server to another database, usingDCA.
